A trip at Movieland - Italy

Last week we went to Movieland, an amusement park near Lake Garda. As you can easily guess from the name, it is themed around movies and cinema. I had never been there before, so everything was new to me, and I have to say that I was pleasantly satisfied.

The entrance, as you can see from the first photo, is very nice and atmospheric. The paths and the buildings also give you the feeling of being in Hollywood.

Moving on to the attractions, the first thing we did was a kind of jeep ride where you had to drive the vehicle yourself along a course. We had to wait quite a while because someone had gotten stuck and ended up blocking everyone else. The route went through a world similar to Jurassic Park.

Then we took a bus ride that featured immersive scenes inspired by some of the biggest blockbuster movies, including King Kong, Jaws, Bonnie and Clyde, and a few films about tornadoes and fires.

After that we went on another ride in a small truck, and people were literally getting off completely soaked from head to toe. We tried it ourselves and I found out why the hard way. The truck drove at high speed over rough terrain, simulating stunt driving, but at one point it stopped over a water pipe that blasted water straight into the passenger area. I ended up getting off with even my socks completely soaked.

Other interesting attractions included a 3D cinema, a submarine simulation, a log flume style roller coaster, and a ride that spun in circles where you had to throw balls at the people on the other cars while they tried to hit you back.

There were also some impressive live shows performed by professional stuntmen. We managed to watch one based on Rambo, who had to rescue a friend captured by the Russians while also saving some hostages who were randomly chosen from the audience. There were explosions, people "dying", fist fights, motorcycles, boats, tanks, and plenty of action. It was very entertaining.

Overall, it is a great park. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth visiting. The queues are not too bad, and it is not one of those parks that constantly tries to sell you fast passes or squeeze every possible euro out of you.

Looks clean...and hot! Certainly a solid exhibit. I presume the stunt actors were doing the military stuff? Still, I wouldn't like that too much :) The rest of it looks cool.

It was hot indeed but the queues were under some kind of roofs with ventilators so it was good... Yes this spectacle was based on Rambo, so military, but they did also various others with other themes

Haha, that sounds fun! The place looks beautiful too. We have something similar here and I get really hooked on a water gun place, where we all shoot at each other and get soaked, and then there’s a dryer afterwards. I love things like this, so fun! I bet your little one was amazed. :)

What a fun day out! Love that Movieland leans into full storytelling with the rides — the Jurassic Park-style jeep course and that Rambo stunt show with real explosions sound like a blast. Definitely adding this to the list if I'm ever near Lake Garda!
