In search of a balance / En busca de un equilibrio - LOH contest week #281 (eng-esp)

Greetings, friends.

If you had asked me this question several years ago, my answers would have been different than they are today. In my opinion, finding a balance between work and personal life so that one doesn't negatively impact the other can be quite complicated, and it has nothing to do with whether you work from home or not.

For example, I have a teenage son who demands a lot of my time, as is to be expected.

Therefore, sometimes working from home can be ideal so I can give him all the attention he needs. It also allows me to do it more efficiently since I'm always available to him. But on the other hand, this might affect my work because the time I spend with him, or the time I invest in regaining concentration and resuming work from where I left off, is lost forever.

However, I've always preferred working from home. I've just had to adapt to my circumstances and achieve the balance we're discussing today.

But it's never been about the reason I work from home; when I worked in an office, I also had to find a balance, precisely because I spent more than a third of the day away from home and my loved ones.

One of the strategies I've adopted is to take my work out of both the office and home. For this reason, I sometimes go to a coffee shop and work from there, taking advantage of the internet connection and the peace and quiet that some coffee shops offer.

I do this to escape household chores. We all know there's always something to do at home, and that can distract me from work. But I also do it so I can chat with colleagues or friends who happen to be at the coffee shop or nearby. They're a welcome distraction, in a good way, when I need it.

Another compelling reason is that the café is located near my son's school. This puts me at the heart of everything, between my personal circle of friends and my work colleagues.

Si me hubieran hecho esta pregunta varios años atrás, las respuestas fuera diferente a la respuesta que puedo dar hoy. En mi opinión, encontrar un balance, un equilibrio entre la vida laboral y la personal para que una no afecte a la otra, puede llegar a ser bastante complicado y no tiene nada que ver con que trabajes en la casa o no.

Por ejemplo, yo tengo un niño adolescente que demanda mucho tiempo, como es lógico. p
Por tanto, hay veces en que, trabajar desde la casa, puede ser lo idóneo para poder darle toda la atención que mi hijo requiere. Además, hacerlode una forma más expedita ya que siempre estoy ahí a su alcance. Pero, por otro lado, esto puede que afecte a mi trabajo ya que, el tiempo en que estoy con él o el que invierto en retomar la concentración y reanudar el trabajo desde donde lo dejé, no puedo recuperarlo.

No obstante, yo siempre he preferido el trabajo desde casa. Solo que he tenido que adaptarme a mis circunstancias y conseguir ese equilibrio del que estamos hablando hoy.
Pero nunca ha tenido que ver con la razón de que mi trabajo sea desde la casa; ya que, cuando trabajaba en oficina, también tuve que buscar un equilibrio, precisamente por el hecho de que pasaba más de una tercera parte del día lejos de la casa y de mis seres queridos.

Una de las estrategias que he tomado es la de sacar mi trabajo, tanto de la oficina como de la casa. Por tal motivo, en ocasiones me mudo hacia una cafetería y me pongo a trabajar desde ahí, aprovechando la conectividad a internet y la paz que dan algunas cafeterías.
Eso lo hago con la intención de poder escapar de las labores hogareñas. Todos sabemos que en una casa siempre hay algo que hacer, y eso puede distraerme del trabajo. Pero, también lo hago para poder conversar con colegas o amigos que pasen por la cafetería o que se encuentren cerca.
Distraen, pero en el buen sentido, cuando lo necesito.

Otra razón de peso, es el hecho de que la cafetería se encuentra cerca de la escuela de mi hijo. De este modo, me encuentro en el centro de todo entre el círculo de amigos que pertenecen a mi vida personal y el de colegas con los que trabajo.
