Computer & Video Games was published in the U.K. and was probably the longest running video games magazine ever published. From the early 1980s until well into the 2000s it covered both computer and console games. The August 1984 issue includes:

  • Top 30 - A list of the top 30 games. Coming in at the top spot this month was Jet Set Willy for the Spectrum.

  • Hall of Fame - Reader submitted high scores for Atic Atac, Arcadia Spectrum, Planetoid, Diamonds, Zalaga, Jet Pac, Manic Miner, Parsec, and The Pyramid.

  • Extra Bits - A look at some add-ons for various machines including midi interfaces for the Commodore 64 and Spectrum, a joystick interface for the Electron, and more, plus a look at the new Amstrad computer.
  • Adventure - A look at some of the latest adventure games including Lords of Midnight, the Zork Trilogy for the Commodore 64, and more.

    • Condensation Street - A type-in game for the ZX Spectrum where you must help Stan get to the bar.

    • Mower Mania - A type-in game for the ZX Spectrum that involves cutting grass.

    • Tunnel Snatch - A type-in game for the VIC-20 in which you must collect treasure from the tunnels while avoiding the monster.

    • Dodgems - A type-in game for the BBC in which you must dodge ghosts in the bumper cars at a haunted amusement park.

    • Super Solitaire - A type-in solitaire game for the Atari 400/800.

    • Splatter - A type-in game for the Commodore 64 in which you play the part of a queen bee dropping her eggs on cabbages.

    • Q*Bert - A type-in Q*Bert clone for the Sharp MZ-80K.

    • Dive Bomb - A type-in game for the TI-99/4A in which you must make an emergency landing of an experimental bomber by first leveling on the buildings in an abandoned mining town.

    • Stop the World - A type-in Risk-like game for the ZX Spectrum.
