Getting My First Cards from the New Reward Set in Splinterlands

In this post I'm going to open some Rarity Draws in Splinterlands. My current focus in the game is getting the cards from the new Reward Set, and I have 3 options to get them.
- Open Rarity Draws
- Open Loot Chests
- Buy the cards on the market
I was undecided between choosing Rarity Draws or Loot Chests, so I decided to open both. I'll use part of the Glint on the Rarity Draws and the other part on the Loot Chests.
The option of buying the cards on the market is also good because they are at a good price, but for now my focus is on the other editions and therefore I won't buy them now. Actually, my goal is to get all the cards and level them up to the maximum level just by spending Glint.
Before continuing to talk about Splinterlands, I'll talk a little about Arcade Colony.
Arcade Colony

Arcade Colony is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features.
For more information about the platform, read the Whitepapper.
You will find 4 games on Arcade Colony and they are:
I frequently play only Splinterlands and Moon Karts because in my opinion they are the 2 most fun and profitable games.
Remember that this is not investment advice; do your research on these games before investing in them.
As I mentioned before, my focus in Splinterlands is to get the cards from the new Reward Set, and for that reason I'm playing in the Wild format. This is a great format for me because I can use cards from older sets and I have an easier time playing with those cards.

Today I'm going to open Rarity Draws and I have 6465 Glint that I accumulated from my battles. I chose to open Common Draws because they cost little Glint and I don't yet have any cards from the new Reward Set, so it's a great option to start with if you have little Glint available.

Each Common Draw costs 300 Glint, so I'll be able to open 20 of them. Remember that it's a great idea to use Alchemy potions when opening Rarity Draws because Gold Foil cards are tradable, so you can sell them to buy other cards on the market or to build a collection of Gold Foil cards.
You can also sell them and make a profit since Splinterlands is also an investment.

Time to open the Common Draws and see which cards I'll get. Each Rarity Draw has a 0.5% chance of being a Gold Foil card, this percentage increases to 1% with Alchemy potions.

I wasn't lucky enough to get any Gold Foil cards, but that was expected because the chances are low and I opened few Rarity Draws. Next time I'll accumulate more Glint to open more Rarity Draws and maybe I'll get some Gold Foil cards.
My focus in Rarity Draws is on Common Draws and Rare Draws; I chose these because the Glint cost is lower and they also have great cards in these rarities. After I evolve all the Common and Rare cards, I'll start opening Epic Draws and Legendary Draws.
I'll probably get some epic and legendary cards in the Loot Chests.
My goal is to evolve all Regular cards to the maximum level and sell the Gold Foil cards. I noticed that Splinterlands decreased the chances of getting Gold Foil cards from 1% to 0.5% and also increased the Glint price of Legendary and Alchemy potions. These changes decrease the chances of players getting Gold Foil cards, but the good news is that Gold Foil cards will probably increase in value since they will be harder to obtain.
