Vibes Music Competition Week 38 ~Song Review
Hi everyone, it’s been a minute!
Ooo! I see some new faces on #vibes doing absolutely amazing, and I must say, I’m completely blown away. The talent here just keeps getting richer by the day. It’s such a beautiful sight to see people giving their best and shining so brightly in their own unique ways.
Speaking of fresh talent, I recently stumbled on this amazing guy called @thesinging.chef, and oh my goodness, he left me so speechless. He made it to the top 15 for week 38, and honestly, why wouldn’t he? He delivered so exceptionally well! Like, Jeez!
Now, let’s talk about his song choice: He Lives in Me by Diana Ross. That is not just any regular song, I must say. That is a bold and powerful song. It’s one of those songs that has stayed with us no matter how many years has gone by.
The message it brings, the melody and even the weight it carries, proves that it is a true classic. I don’t even think this Gen Z generation can fully grasp the depth of that kind of music.
But what really caught my attention was what @thesinging.chef did between the 1:04 and 1:06 timestamp. That vocal slide was indeed out of this world! My God! It sounded so clean, so effortless and so soulful.
I was totally drawn in. And beyond the vocals, I loved how much he genuinely enjoyed himself during the entire performance. I could feel his connection to the song. His vocals had this smoothness that just dragged me through the entire performance and with all sincerity, I didn’t want it to end!
Another genre of music that was pleasantly performed was Rap. This one was beautifully performed by @ovey10. He did a cover of Devil’s Work by Bizzle.
Now, I wouldn’t exactly say Rap is my favorite genre of music, but the truth remains that, when I hear a good performance, I get tuned in almost immediately. And that was exactly what happened when I listened to his rendition. It was too powerful and full of confidence at the same time. I could tell he wasn’t just rapping but was telling a story, and I was indeed here for it.
I’m super thankful for this platform that continues to bless us with amazing talents like these. A big shoutout to @lordbutterfly, @verbal-d , and @silentscreamer for making this space possible. Thank you for giving these amazing talents a chance to be seen, heard, and appreciated.
As you keep the vibes going, I sincerely pray that the Good Lord continue to reward you all richly.
