Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

Morning gathering in the sun in the stairwell!

Today was the first Caturday of the spring season, and we celebrated with a lovely sunny day filled with sunny spots in which to take great naps!

This is really the best time of the year for sunshine in the house, before the trees get their leaves and cast shade.

I typically depend on the amount of light coming in from the outside, as my way to determine when to wake up the Hoomans! Today, the sun was streaming into the house quite early, so I went and sat on the Hoomans quite early to see if they were alive and awake.

As usual, the Mom-Hooman would hear nothing of it, but the Dad-Hooman just grumbled a bit and then got out of bed to give us our breakfast!

The early sunny spots were mostly at the front of the house by the stairwell so we all congregated there. As the day wore on, it was the cat towers at the back side of the house that were the most popular!

Since it was such a nice sunny day, the humans went outside as well to do some of their gardening work. It was quite fun to watch the Dad-Hooman wrestle a fairly large tree out from the middle of another fairly large tree where the two had grown together.

We were happy to watch them from inside, but mostly we were competing for the best sleeping spots!

For the first time in quite a few weeks this was actually a quiet day at home, with no visitors and no out of town travel.

The Hoomans were actually quite happy about this situation, as well, since they had been expecting somebody from out-of-state to come in and stay for a few days. But plans were changed and so we had nice quiet time.

As usual, Smudge remained completely unperturbed by the whole situation. She just enjoyed her nap time, and generally seemed fairly oblivious to her surroundings.

I guess it's part of the joy of growing very old that you stop caring too much about what's going on around you and just enjoy whatever warmth and comfort you can find.

The only dark cloud on anotherwise great day came late in the evening when the Hoomans learned that one of their very best friends has cancer.

He starts his treatments at our local hospital this coming week and we are all very hopeful that he will be okay... because he is also a great friend to us cats!

Not much to say about the cryptosphere this week other than it continues to Bumble along at basement levels. Our own Hive token continues to struggle to just hold six cents, which is a pretty sad situation.

On a more positive note our Hive community is now 6 years old, or 10 years if you count our original home on the old chain. All in all, 10 years is pretty impressive for any kind of Internet property!
