Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

Welcome to another weekend edition update, largely on account of the fact that yesterday was Saturday... and Saturday means Caturday, my favorite day of the week! We are running a little late this week, but better late than never!

Somehow, it got to be the month of August already! How did that happen? Seems like it was just spring!

Anyway, we welcomed in the new month with a cold and blustery day... not at all very summery, and no sunny spots for Caturday. However, today being Sunday was a much nicer day and we even found a few sunny spots for naptime.

The Hoomans stayed indoors this weekend as well, with the Dad-Hooman diligently working on his artwork, and the Mom-Hooman doing "artsy" things, as well.

Naturally, such things are best accomplished with the help of a cat, so we all had our paws full! Sometimes I wonder whether green paint tastes like plants.

The Dad-Hooman is pretty adament about keeping me out of the paints, though. Probably a good thing!

Yes, they are definitely a "bonded pair!"

We have now made it well past the halfway point of 2026, and it looks like we will definitely make our goal for building Hive Power for this year.

That's some welcome news, especially given that the rest of this year (so far) has not been much to write home about! Of course, we still have five more months to go so maybe things will turn around.

It looks like we get to enjoy a quiet week ahead, although this coming weekend we are going to have family visiting.

I don't mind people in the house when they arrive just one at a time but when it's a whole group it gets a little overwhelming and I tend to hide in a dark corner where I can just be left in peace!

In other news, it's time to mark your calendars!

International Cat Day — one of the longer lived "cat holidays," celebrated since 2002 — is coming up next Saturday, August 8th! It's our own special day to celebrate everything cat!
