It is the weekend once again and that means we have had Caturday, my favorite day of the week! Of course, pretty much all days qualify as Caturdays around here, since our Hoomans are very dedicated to their cats' well-being!

This weekend is also the weekend of Father's Day here in the USA, so we are sort of celebrating the Dad-Hooman this weekend, too. He's not into celebrations much, so it'll likely be pretty quiet. But still... he does deserve our gratitude.

Seems like summer has arrived in our corner of the world!

We have had lots of sunshine, which means lovely sunny spots for Felines, and opportunities for the Hoomans to work on their garden projects. The sliding glass doors have been open to just the screens, so we cats have been laying in the sun, in the fresh air breeze.

Since we are all 'rescue cats" we have no particular desire to roam around outside... except maybe for brief excursions to our upstairs deck, with Hooman supervision!

A serious moment...

Lately, we have been trying to determine what our favorite treat/snacks are.

Normal "snack time" is when the Hoomans have their coffee in the morning, and then again before Hooman dinner in the evening.

We have been cycling through all kinds of treats and goodies and cat food... and have more or less established that Felines are much like Hoomans: We each have our favorites and preferences, and trying to do snack time with a "one size fits all" approach just isn't working!

Shangri is perhaps the most particular, in the sense that he prefers to have something different every time it is snack time. What was good yesterday isn't necessarily interesting today!

That makes it tricky to plan anything! Luckily, he's not that much of a foodie, nor does he go around chewing much on "forbidden" things.

Nala, on the other hand, is very much a lover of the small dry food "seafood" treats and will eat not only her own, but also everyone else's portion... IF left to her own devices!

Smudge — our senior citizen kitty — will eat pretty much anything, provided it is sort of stinky!

Makes us wonder whether her sense of smell is not as good as it once was... or maybe she just likes stinky-fishy treats!

All in all, it has been a good weekend around here!

The Hoomans are trying to not worry too much about the "world situation," as the Dad-Hooman keeps pointing out: "We really have no control over that stuff, so worrying is a waste of energy."

He's right, of course, but that doesn't mean we stay unaffected, particularly if the financial world takes a tumble.
