Crypto Vibes and Claypot Cravings

It looks like the overall crypto vibe has been improving lately, especially among the altcoins, because we might finally witness the real breakout in the coming months. At least, that’s what I gathered from one of the in-house Hive analysts here on the platform.

I’m glad that the content creator I’m referring to has returned and is now posting about crypto again (specifically Hive) after being away for a few months. There was a situation back then that caused them to take a break, and it was honestly disappointing how things escalated. At one point, I almost thought they were going to leave the platform for good. Thankfully, that didn’t happen, because they’re doing a great job with their content, and I genuinely enjoy reading their crypto analysis posts.

Anyway, I also feel that the bull run isn’t over yet, and it seems like the altcoins are gearing up to do something awesome this season. That said, the wait still feels like an eternity, so why not stay busy and distract myself from obsessing over the bull run or alt season for a while, right?

Now, for this post, let me share what I had for lunch today!

I ended up with a weird mix of food that I almost regretted eating right after I finished, LOL. I had a nice, warm claypot Bak Kut Teh with rice and then I also got myself two slices of pancakes. 😅 A bit excessive, don’t you think? At first, I thought it was fine until I finished the pancakes and realized how full I was. 😄

I’ve actually been eyeing this claypot stall ever since I tried their chicken in red wine sauce, which I really liked, so I figured their claypot Bak Kut Teh would be good too, and it was! I liked this version, although I think the seasoning and peppermint balance could use some improvement. Of course, that’s just my opinion. Bak Kut Teh is a well-known dish, and there are restaurants that have perfected their recipes. Those are my benchmarks now.

So whenever I have a Bak Kut Teh that doesn’t measure up to my favorite restaurant’s version, I usually don’t feel fully satisfied.

Although the soup was a bit bland, I did enjoy the pork ribs. They were flavorful and perfectly tender, just the way I like them. I have no complaints about the meat itself. However, the overall quality of the soup isn’t something I’d rave about or recommend to friends just yet.

And then for dessert (if I can even call it that 😄), I had two slices of traditional pancakes. The flavors I picked were Kaya and Coconut. This kind of pancake is the affordable type... I paid just SGD 2.20 for both slices. That’s very reasonable, especially considering how much the prices of pastries and desserts have gone up lately.

Between the two flavors, I preferred the coconut. I liked the pancake batter they used and the way it was cooked. They used a large pan to cook the surface thoroughly, which resulted in a slightly crispier skin while keeping the inside soft and delicate.

Right after this meal, I felt really satisfied... and I even had to loosen my belt afterward, LOL.

All in all, it was a satisfying lunch... even if the food combo was a little unusual. Sometimes, it’s these random meals that make the day more fun and memorable. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes and see if they can surprise me again!
