My InLeo Premium Upgrade First Impressions
Alright, admit it. You saw the title, and maybe, just maybe, a tiny part of you thought, "Flipping finally." Or perhaps a more cynical part wondered, "What took him so long?" Both are valid, honestly. Because after mulling it over for what feels like an eternity in crypto time. Which, let's be real, is about two weeks. I finally pulled the trigger.
I bought the InLeo Premium subscription. And before you start picturing me rolling around in a vault of imaginary LEO, let’s be clear. This isn’t about newfound wealth from the recent pump, although that little green candle certainly did not hurt the vibe. This is about strategic plays, about finally diving deeper into a part of Hive I’ve admired from a slight distance, and yes, about that oh-so-satisfying orange checkmark.
The "Why" Isn't Just Because LEO is Pumping (But Also Kinda Because LEO is Pumping)
For a while now, I’ve been a casual observer, throwing out a few posts here and there, mostly about Splinterlands (because, well, Splinterlands). But as I started leaning into the writing game a bit more, the idea of Premium just started to make sense. It’s funny because it really comes down to realizing that if you are going to operate in a space, you might as well operate with the right tools.
And then there's a particular "whale"(we can dream right!) in my community, my buddy FP @finpulse. He jumped on the Premium train a while back and seeing him use it, seeing the value he was getting. Well, that's called social proof, you numbskull. If someone you respect is doing it, and doing it intelligently, you start to question your own. Shall we say. Frugality. Sometimes it’s not just about what I think, but about seeing the successful moves others are making.
Beyond the Checkmark: What I'm Actually Here To Do
Look, the orange checkmark is nice. It’s like a little digital pat on the back, a badge of "I'm serious about this space, maybe." But honestly, what I am actually excited about involves a few key things:
- The Threads. Oh, The Threads. This is huge. I’ve been lurking on Twitter (I refuse to call it X, don’t even start), and frankly, it is a mess. The idea of a decentralized, incentivized short-form content platform like InLeo Threads? That's just smart. I want to explore how these work, how to engage, how to cut through the noise. It’s about more than just posting. It’s about micro-curation, real-time discussion, and hopefully, not getting brain-damaged by terrible takes. My goal is to use them effectively, not just endlessly scroll. Expect me to be experimenting, to be honest. Maybe some of it will be wildly inefficient, maybe some of it will be genius. We will see.
- More Curation from Leo.voter (The Strategic Play) This is where the rubber meets the road. Getting more curation from the @leo.voter account is a clear, quantifiable benefit. My brain, the one that loves to "min-max" everything, immediately went to. "Okay, how do I optimize my content and engagement to get seen by this big dawg?" It’s an incentive structure that rewards quality and consistency, and frankly, I'm here for it. This isn't just about getting a bigger slice of the pie. It's about making sure your content is pie-worthy.
- The Orange Checkmark (Because, Let's Be Real) Okay, I lied a little when I said it was not about the checkmark. It is about the checkmark, too. In a world awash with anonymity and bots, having that little seal of approval signals something. It says, "Hey, this human actually put some skin in the game." It’s an instant credibility boost within the ecosystem, and in crypto, where trust is a fluctuating asset, any perceived stability is massive. It’s less about vanity and more about showing commitment. Yeah, commitment. That's what I am going with.
And The 5k HP Delegation?
Ah, yes. The cherry on top. The 5,000 HP delegated to @leo.voter. This was not a random act of generosity, folks. This was a direct extension of the same thinking. If I am leaning into InLeo, if I am expecting to benefit from its growth and future, then reinforcing Leo.voter’s power makes logical sense. It’s a reciprocal relationship. I empower the curator, hopefully benefitting from their increased influence and indirectly, from the enhanced distribution of rewards within the ecosystem. It's about aligning incentives. Simple as that. It’s not charity, it's strategy.
Conclusion (For Now)
So, here we are. This is not just a simple subscription. It’s a commitment. A foray into new territory, a doubling down on the Hive ecosystem, and a clear signal that I see a future here. I will be putting these InLeo Premium features to the test. Expect more dives into Threads, more discussions about what’s working (and what’s not), and probably, a continued stream of my slightly cynical, often analytical, always passionate takes on crypto and anything else that rattles around in my brain.
Wish me luck. Or don't. I'm doing it anyway.
Found some value in this little deep dive? Maybe even a chuckle or two? If so, and you want to support more of this unfiltered insight (or just my ability to pay for more coffee), a vote for my Hive Witness would be pretty sweet. Thanks for sticking around!

Welcome to the group my friend. Hope you enjoy your InLeo premium experience. Happy weekend.
Thanks buddy
Hey buddy
Are you an active witness?
Asking because I see witness vote option on your profile.
Yes mate, been a active witness for a long time now, send me a vote I appreciate it.
Cool. Happy to vote you buddy. Done.
How do you feel about the extra votes? Do you feel like this is the old school "buying votes" but with extra steps?
I have somehow accumulated dozens of LEO, but I haven't really been trying. Well, I dumped some (60) SPS for it a few weeks ago when I first starting seeing what I thought were delusional claims of LEO $10, LEO $30, but ... I definitely didn't see SPS in that arena anytime soon, so I guess a took a very tiny risk.
I often scroll through the LEO threads and LEO community, and I am... upset by the outrageous takes on various topics. A lot of views that challenge what I find to be foundational reality, so I scroll on by and ignore them.
But, I saw the LEO Premium thingy, and thought it was just another blue checkmark (though I love the intentionality of it it being on the opposite side of the colour wheel) - and the extra votes for the sub made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
