Can AI already replace Humans?

I know the title is clickbait, but I'm not going to talk about the issues that are much debated about AI replacing programmers, writers or designers.

In this case, I'm going to talk about an experience I had related to two little problems that I had to solve quickly.

The first problem was related to the fact that I had received a notification from the tax authorities because I had started a business on my own and had not submitted my VAT returns.

Since I had not made any income during this activity, I thought I didn't need to file any returns.

When I received the notification, at first I didn't understand why, so I grabbed my phone, opened the ChatGPT app and took a photo.

They immediately explained to me the reason for the notification and the steps I had to take to resolve the situation.

In 15 minutes, I had the situation resolved without having to look for an accountant and without having to pay anyone for any services.
In addition, he also helped me write the text citing the decrees, laws, and articles to send a message preventing any fines that could be applied to me.

The second situation was related to the fact that on one of my trips to the company's office I realized that I had forgotten to bring my headphones and I had some important meetings that day.

Since MediaMarkt (the store closest to my workplace) had not yet opened at 9 am, I decided to do some research, but since I am not very knowledgeable about the specifications of headphones, I was unsure which one would be most relevant to my needs.
So I decided to open ChatGPT and explain my needs and my budget. After explaining these issues to him, I asked him to search the MediaMarkt website for the best option among the available headphones.

After receiving his recommendation, I went to the store and wanted to test whether his choice would be the same as the salesperson's recommendation, and it was.

After all, the salesperson did the same thing as ChatGPT and opened the MediaMarkt website to see the specifications of the headphones.

In other words, I received the same product recommendation without having to talk to anyone and without being subject to the person's mood that day, or whether they prefer a specific brand. This made me think that this type of work could easily be replaced by AI.

What do you think?

Could AI already replace people in some jobs today?

In a long conversation IA will not pass the Turing test but in short conversations they pass the Turing test, at least the most recent models.
