Project Stargate

source

Amid a furious outpouring of executive orders and Trump had time to gathered Oracle founder Larry Ellison, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Softbank chief Masayoshi Son at the Roosevelt Room in the White House to unveil a $500 billion artificial intelligence project named after a 1994 Roland Emmerich sci-fi film about intergalactic portals. During this AI infrastructure announcement, he also took the time threaten to impose tariffs on the European Union, as he has done with Canada, China and Mexico.

I can't even keep up with all the craziness right now so I just going to get back to what I actually wanted to talk about, Project Stargate. The plan for the project, is to build campuses that can provide energy for increasingly powerful artificial intelligence tools, which sap much more energy than, say, a typical Google search. The first data center campus was announced to be located in Abilene, Texas, with SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle and MGX as initial equity funders and Arm, Microsoft, NVIDIA and OpenAI named as tech partners.

In the announcement, Trump said it best himself “We have to get this stuff built,” while promising 100,000 jobs in the U.S. He contuined to ramble saying, “I was in the real estate business. These buildings, these are big, beautiful buildings. They’re going to employ a lot of people.” I can't listen to him talk, and can only assume he has no idea what AI actually is and does. I do think this is a win for technology companies and billionaires who Trump promised to help.

It all comes down to lining someones pockets at this point. Artificial intelligence tools have flooded the market since OpenAI revealed ChatGPT to the public in November 2022, tech giants are now contending with Wall Street’s increasing focus on how AI will be used by everyday consumers and ultimately become profitable for the companies. The race to build infrastructure domestically is one key component for the industry, and now Trump is stepping into the ring to help these companies out. I'm so excited to see how these poor billionaire benifit from this administration considering this is first full day!

Also going to be a big win for nuclear companies. Best to invest in some of them if you haven't already!

I like that play. I think AMD is also a good play right now too.

A long time ago I bought five or six shares of AMD and one or two shares of NVIDIA. I eventually got rid of them, but I really wish I had held onto them!

Same I'm building a position in both to sell covered calls. With this last pump SPY is up over 5% I'm thinking there will be a pull back to add more.

I think I agree with you that he he probably has no idea what AI is and does lol. Maybe it's the tech billionaires that have lobbied for this move, since it'll make some of them richer.
