Excitement Until the Last Round of the Brazilian Championship: The Four Relegated Teams Decided

In a surprising turn of events, Santos managed to recover in the final rounds, winning their last three matches. Their winning streak began in the 36th round against relegated Sport, and from there, Santos secured the necessary points to remain in Série A. What makes things even more incredible is that Neymar, even after being diagnosed with a new meniscus injury in his left knee, didn't abandon the team and helped Santos in their fight against relegation.
The fight against relegation was between Internacional, Ceará, Fortaleza, and Vitória. Ceará was the most likely to be relegated because it had the misfortune of facing the champion and runner-up in their respective last matches. As expected, they lost both games and, even playing at home, were humiliated by Palmeiras 3-1. The third spot then went to the team from Ceará.
Internacional's Game of Life
Of the three remaining teams, Internacional was the only one that, even with a win, would depend on favorable results from the other matches. A simple 1-0 victory wouldn't be enough for them to stay in Serie A. They needed to win by at least two goals and hope for a defeat for Fortaleza and Vitória.

And it worked; Inter beat Bragantino 3-1. Vitória also beat São Paulo 1-0, and Fortaleza lost to Botafogo 4-2, thus the tricolor team occupied the last relegation spot.
Therefore, Sport, Juventude, Ceará, and Fortaleza are the four clubs that will compete in Série B in 2026. The clubs that will be promoted and compete in the elite of Brazilian football will be Coritiba, Remo, Atlético-PR, and Chapecoense. Ceará's football team bids farewell to the Brasileirão, as the state will not have any representatives in the next edition. The Brazilian football season ends today, and now only Flamengo remains to compete in the Intercontinental Cup.

Dessa vez, a definição ficaria apenas para sabermos quem seriam os 4 rebaixados de 2025. Sport e Juventude já estavam rebaixados e havia ainda duas vagas.
O campeão Flamengo teve que fazer sua última partida contra o Mirassol no sábado, foi o único jogo porque a CBF liberou o time para que não precisasse jogar no domingo para que o time viajasse para disputar o Intercontinental. O Sub-20 e alguns jogadores reservas jogaram contra a equipe de São Paulo. A partida terminou em 3-3.
O Santos de forma surpreendente, conseguiu se recuperar nas rodadas finais vencendo as três ultimas partidas. A arrancada começou na 36ª, contra o rebaixado Sport e a partir dali, o Santos conseguiu os pontos necessários para permanecer na Série A. O que deixa as coisas mais incríveis é que Neymar, mesmo diagnosticado com uma nova lesão no menisco do joelho esquerdo, mesmo assim o craque não abandonou o time e ajudou o Santos na luta contra o rebaixamento.
A luta contra a queda ficou por conta de Internacional, Ceará, Fortaleza e Vitória. O Ceará era o mais cotado para cair porque teve o azar de enfrentar o campeão e o vice nas últimas respectivas partidas. Como de se esperar, perdeu os dois jogos e mesmo jogando dentro de casa, foi humilhado pelo Palmeiras por 3 - 1. A terceira vaga então foi para o time cearense.
O Jogo da Vida do Internacional
Dos três times que sobraram, o Internacional era o único que, mesmo vencendo, teria que depender de resultados favoráveis das outras partidas. Uma vitória simples de 1-0 não seria o suficiente para que ele permanecesse na série A. Precisava vencer no mínimo por dois gols e torcer para uma derrota do Fortaleza e Vitória.
Até Abel Braga, ídolo eterno que conquistou o Mundial pelo clube, chegou para assumir o lugar do técnico Ramón Díaz. A sua chegada foi importante para trazer outros ânimos para o elenco do clube. E funcionou, o Inter venceu o Bragantino por 3-1. O Vitória também venceu o São Paulo por 1-0 e o Fortaleza perdeu para o Botafogo por 4-2, sendo assim, o time tricolor ocupou a última vaga do rebaixamento.
Portanto, Sport, Juventude, Ceará e Fortaleza são os quatro clubes que irão disputar a Série B de 2026. Os clubes que subirão e disputarão a elite do futebol brasileiro serão Coritiba, Remo, Atlético-PR e Chapecoense. O futebol do Ceará se despede do Brasileirão, pois o estado não terá nenhum representante na próxima edição. A temporada do futebol brasileiro encerra hoje e agora apenas o Flamengo falta disputar o Intercontinental.
