Playoffs Week 9 Thursday Previews

Not really the results I anticipated on Tuesday in Playoff 2 which brought just over half a unit loss in total giving back some of the profit of last week. Today is likely the day when the championship will be sealed if Club Brugge takes the win against Kv Mechelen. Agains 3 matches at the same time which isn't the most optimal but I will try to do my best to find some good value bets without forcing anything.

AA Gent vs Union SG

Union arguably have nothing left to play for anymore aside from a mathematical miracle where Club Brugge fails to win one of their next 2 matches. So only a win will do for them. If Brugge is ahead at halftime by a couple of goals, they might have some decompression but otherwise I do see them taking risks to get the win today to possibly still be in contention during the last week. AA Gent still has everything to play for as they are in range of the 4th place. A draw probably would not be a bad result for them so they are not in a position where they need to go full risk to get the win. At times, they show good thigs but it never lasts 90 minutes and especially after they take the lead they tend to still give it away. I'm leaning toward the over in this one as for both sides at some point there might either be desperation or decompression. I'm not in a hurry though to rush in and will wait and see how this math evolves. No Pre-Game Bets

Anderlecht vs Stvv

Anderlecht is still fighting for European Football and are in the best position to reach if. However, they have not really been putting up good performances in the playoffs and remain a team that are hard to trust. Stvv have nothing to play for and saw key player Ito get injured last weekend. They took a better start at home against Gent but were shaken up a bit after Ito got injured and allowed Gent better in the match who scored the 0 - 1. After that, they still managed to show some good fighting power and took the deserved draw. This is one of those matches where nothing really would surprise me. I can see a scenario where Stvv just plays freely and is the better team overall. So also here I will wait and see how the match picture looks, a point would not be the worst result in the world for Anderlecht. No Pre-Game Bets

Kv Mechelen vs Club Brugge

This by far is the most interesting match betting wise as Club Brugge just needs to take the win in order to be sure of the Championship while KV Mechelen also needs points in the fight for places 4 or 5. The quality difference and form also is pretty big so everyone and their mother pretty much expects Club Brugge to win comfortably and so do I. It is not a do-or-die situation for Club Brugge so nerves should be no real issue and aside from Mignolet who likely will start in the bench, they have their full squad available and in form. Kv Mechelen is without their miracle goalkeeper Miras and De Wolf didn't leave the best impression in the match against Anderlecht. I expect nothing more than Club Brugge to absolutely dominate this match from the start and keep going if they score the 0-1. I took 0.17 units each on Club Brugge 1st Half -0.5 @ 1.806 and Club Brugge 1st Half Corners -0.75 @ 1.820. If Mechelen were to score first or at a half-time draw, it should give some good extra in-game betting opportunities.
