Saturday was somewhat of a breakeven day and there are 4 matches left in week 6 to make something of that.
KV Mechelen vs AA Gent
Mechelen so far has been the poor team in the playoffs yet without a win and 4 losses in a row after they took an initial 1-1 draw against Gent. That was a match of 2 halves where Gent was clearly better in the 1st but Mechelen was better in the 2nd half. Mechelen is still in the race to take 5th or even 4th spot even if they take just a draw here. While I believe their aim will be to win it, I can't see them overly taking risks. They also kind of collapsed in the 2nd half in their 2last matches. AA Gent has been a team that has shown good things at times but never for 90 minutes straight which also puts them left without a win in the playoffs. Basically these are 2 teams I don't trust and the main angle for me is that the one that takes the lead likely will crawl back more which potentially should given an option for an in-game corners position. for now,

Antwerp vs Standard
Antwerp is on a 3-gale winning streak which has put them in a position where they can level with Genk and Westerlo if they take the win today. I do believe they will play this with 'winning is the only option' approach until the end taking risks when needed. Their performance against Leuven wasn't great and they were helped bt a red card of the opponent. They took a close win away in Standard who were poor, last week, they once again were helped by an early red card against Westerlo while they still gave away 2 goals against 10 players. Their coach is giving more younghsters a chance and this is unlikely to change now that they make a chance again at winning it. They could also be one of those cases where not that great play but winning matches might create a confidence where they actually start playing good. Standard is also just 3 points behind on Genk & Westerlo but that was also kind of the case in their previous matches where winning was a must. Yet they didn't play that way just keeping the defense and only being willing to go a bit more forward once they fell behind. So I don't expect standard to take risks and instead play their usual defensive style on the counter only changing that once they fall behind. This style haw worked for them as they took multiple hold-up wins. They got 13 corners against away vs Genk, only 4 at home against Antwerp, and 6 away against Charleroi. and 7 against both Westerlo & Leuven. Especially of they would score first, taking Mechelen on the corners might be a good option. Mechelen by default isn't a high enough corners creating team to back them now as the big favorite.

Anderlecht vs Club Brugge
Anderlecht feels like a team who can handle Mechelen and AA Gent but simply fall short against Union, Stvv, & Club Brugge. Last week they lost 1-3 to Union which was an exagerrated score as they took red already in the 1st half. Against Stvv it was a narrow deserved loss. They are a team who have brief bursts of good play but never 90 minutes. Club Brugge got a big boost yesterday as Union lost 3 points which now puts everything in their own hands and a win today means that a draw against Union potentially would be enough to take the title. Aside from the match against Union, they won all their games so far in the playoffs and I expect that they will keep this run alive today. Last week, they took a hot start against Gent scoring early and keeping control afterward with the 0-5 in the air before kind of giving up their dominance. I do expect a match were Club Brugge starts with very high intensity trying to push Anderlecht back and take the lead early today. I do like the -0.25 HT handicap a lot more than the -1 FT handicap and took 0.3 units on
Club Brugge 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.805. I will keep it at that for now.
Dender vs La Louviere
Dender for a long time was in a spot where mathematically it was still possible but unlikely and now have a clear objective to prepare for the test matches to stay in 1st division. I kind of waited for this moment but could not back them last week against Cercle Brugge as the difference the week before was just too big. That match ended in a 2-1 loss but it was closer than the week before kind of confirming my suspicion that they might de better from here on out compared to the opponents who have nothing left to play for. The tricky part today though is that La Louviere so far lost all their matches and even though they have nothing left to play for an are safe, putting that losing streak to an end with at least a draw today might motivate them. I expect a match where both will want to get a result where they don't lose which kind of makes the draw a win-win outcome. I don't see a wide open start of the match as Dender likely will want to practice the defensive stability and I took 0.28 units on
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.810. La louviere also has yet to score in these playoffs. My initial thought was to back Dender as the +0.25 handicap but those odds have come down too much so I'm taking 0.1 unit on
