Not the start of the playoffs that I hoped for with a -0.4 unit loss on some corner bets in the match between Antwerp and Genk. Still plenty of them to go in the coming 50 days. 3 Matches on Saturday and here are some thoughts on them...
Zulte-Waregem vs CercleBrugge
The Playdowns are played in a situation where a maximum of 18 points can be won while Dender is 12 behind on La Louviere & Cercle and 13 on Zulte-Waregem. So while in Theory it is possible, in reality, Dender will put all their focus on getting ready for the Matches against the 3rd team from 2nd Division while for the other teams it will be a matter of taking a couple points to be mahematically sure. The motivation for both Zulte & Cercle Brugge will be a big question mark though. Zulte played good under their previous coachwithout taking points but they failed to get away from a playdown spot under the new interim coach and I feel that their momentum has passed a bit. Cercle Brugge had an interim coach against Anderlecht and managed to win deserved without chance to avoid the playdowns. They how have a new coach and it remains to be seen how he will play and what the exact intentions will be. My guess would be that this becomes an open entertaining match but at the same time both might look to just take the points and fully be safe or already start experimenting with an eye on next season. I'm just going to wait and see how the teams present themselves.

OH Leuven vs Standard
Standard still kind of has a chance to win Playoff 2 even though I doubt they really believe since they have to get passed Genk. Regardless, a win is the only real option for Standard which means they have to go forward at some point. Playoff 2 is notorious for some crazy high goal scorelines and each year, I'm thinking of taking some high odds overs. Standard however is a team who mostly plays on the reaction and OHL also has a rather defensive oriented coach. That said, both haven't been that crazy low recently on xg created at 1.45 & 1.44. Since it's playoff 2 and the visitors have to win, I would not be overly surprised if it turned into a goalfest. I took a very cautios 0.04 unit bet on
Over 4.5 @ 9.015 and might also opt in on the over at a lower number. I need to see a somewhat more open match confirmed first though. OHL a couple years ago was one of the team who managed to load themselves up for playoff 2 but at the same time, last season they only managed to win match.
Union vs Sint-Truiden
Union this season has impressive home stats even though they never really managed to dominate their opponents. One of the things that makes them stand out is the solid defense as they don't give much away. In the last week of the Regular Season they played away in Stvv winning it easily with a 1-3 score. Stvv is the revelation of the season and after the halving of the points they are still in contention on paper with just 4 points behind on Union. I think this match might turn out in one of those where the home team either will be overly confident given the recent result or they might start with some nerves as the title is on the line and a poor start might snowball. I expect stvv to be out on a revenge somehow. I took cautious bets of 0.12 units on

I just waited to see what the match brought, anything before that kind of felt like a gamble which also showed in the match as the first half was for Cercle but the 2nd more for Zulte and the match ended in a fair 2-2 score wih equal xg around 1.8
