I was a bit fortunate yesterday not to end up with a small loss and it turned into a flattering win for Westerlo against Charleroi who also got a controversial red card. It's a bit of a weird monday now that feels like a Sunday with 3 matches left to be played...
Club Brugge vs Anderlecht
The pressure in on Club Brugge in this match as Union closely managed to win their match which puts them back at 4 points which actually is 5 as a draw means Union will be the champion. So they are pretty much obligated to take a good start at home in these playoffs against Anderlecht who have not much to lose as they still have the cup which will get some priority. Club Brugge without Vanaken managed to win easily in the last week against a Kv Mechelen who has big decompression. In reality though, Brugge has had difficulties really dominating opponents and winning by wider margins as they too easily get goals against. Anderlecht is a team where form of the day is the biggest factor as they have shown to be capable of having both really good or really bad days. So it's really up to that for me in form of the day from both teams. At a -1.25 handicap it feels like there is a slight edge on Brugge in many cases but a really big edge on Anderlecht in other cases. The one thing that is the main trend is Brugge winning but getting goals against which is also the reason why the total line is set at 3.25. I opted for a small 0.08 unit bet on
Club Brugge Win & Both To Score @ 2.760 which feels like the odds are worth the risk. Club Brugge in their last home matches seems to have upped their corner creation a lot at 12-11-15 while only getting 4-2-2 against. I can see a scenario where also in this one they are the team taking the initiative while Anderlecht tries to keep things closed luring on the counters. If the 1H corners handicap gets to a -1 line at 1.8+ odds I might take a chance on those.
La Louviere vs Dender
With a 12-point gap and 6 matches to be played, a real miracle for Dender needs to happen to still avoid the last place. I'm not sure if they come into these playoffs with even a fraction of belief that it's still possible but if they do, only a win would do today at all risk. At the same time, La Louviere will want to win it just to put it to an end early. La Louviere at the start of the season was a super defensive home team but their coach has flipped it around and they are way more adventurous now. This gave a 5-5 score against Genk and a 1-3 win against Cercle. Dender also has a couple higher scoring games in their last 5 including a 1-3 / 2-2 / 1-4. So I don't really agree on the low total line even though it has come down a bit already. I took 0.04 units on
Over 4 @ 6.938 along with a 0.06 unit bet on
Over 2.25 @ 1.800 with the intention to possibly add more. I also don't think it's that unlikely for Dender to take the win and took 0.09 units on
Dender -0.5 @ 4.461.
AA Gent vs Kv Mechelen
This is a tricky match to me as both teams have good and bad days and I don't really trust either team. AA Gent should have more quality and obligation to go for the 4th place (or 3rd even) while Mechelen is happy just to realy the playoffs for once. I generally don't like to back AA Gent as the clear favorite but at the same time I'm not really willing to trust Mechelen after what they showed in Brugge and also because it's a small miracle that they are in playoff 1. AA Gent did manage to create 2.21-1.85-2.20 xg in their last 3 matches while they only got 0.71-0.97-0.5xg against so the numbers speak for them also because Mechelen in their last 3 away games only got 0.51-0.50-0.65 xg created while getting 3.14 & 2.20 against in their last 2. I'm just going to stay away from this one and see where it goes.
