Saturday was the first really bad day of the season losing over 1.6 units which put me back in the red motly because just having a couple poor bets that didn't play out the way I anticipated. There still is plenty of action left on Sunday which might be a crucial day already for the season as another loss might have me go in conservative recovery mode while a good day might keep me going for somewhat elevated stakes getting more volume in. Here it goes...

Beveren vs Anderlecht

Beveren is a newly promoted team who remained unbeaten in the Challenger league last season. Often these teams come into the 1st division with some momentum but they lost their 1st match last week against Antwerp with 2-1. I do expect enthusiasm from the home team and some willingness to go forward. Anderlecht is in a good flow this early on in the season as they qualified for Europe on Thursday. They also have shown the ability to score goals much more compared to last season and it feels like the opening total line still has to adjust to this. I took 0.445 units on Over 2.5 @ 1.923 & 0.055 units on 1H Over 1 @ 1.810. I will watch and see how the match goes before potentially taking more bets.

La Louviere vs AA Gent

The main thing with La Louviere last week is that they have tall strong defenders and kind of built a wall last week not doing anything offensively similar to the start of last season where they were a 0-0 draw team. They fell with 10 and almost took the draw but Anderlecht in the end did find the needed goal. Right now, they are again in my book as the '0-0 team' until It's shown otherwise. AA Gent at the start of the season mainly stood out by their enforced defense and all the clean sheets they managed to get. They were set to have another one in the Europe qualifier match but eventually conceded out of nowere. They are still a team where to bet opponent team total under for now for me. So basically, I'm going for a considerable under position in this match anticipating caution and both defenses to be better than the offense. I took 0.35 units on Under 2.5 @ 1.925, 0.2 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 1.981, 0.2 units on La Louviere Team Total Under 1 @ 2.060, & 0.05 units on Correct Score 0-0 @ 11.00. I do have the intention to reduced my exposure along the way hopefully with small stakes and high odds.

KV Mechelen vs Standard

Mechelen in week 1 put up the worst performance in the league and showed they are far from ready. Their best players also complained after the match that they need to be enforced so plenty of frustrations there and also still quite some injuries. (Antonio, Boersma, St Jago, Diouf). Standar d was the better team last week at home against Cercle where they showed that finishing chances still is a weak point and they pretty much got their goals gifted by Cercle. I still see them as a team capable of strong defense similar to last year where they crushed the away unders. I pretty much expect a match where both are not willing to get punished and little risk taking combined with limited finishing quality. Once a goal falls things might open up more but that might take a while. I took 0.4 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 1.991. I'm also kind of leaning toward Standard who feel a bit more ready but at the same time the odds are also set accordingly. Maybe if Mechelen starts with a lot f energy and the odds shift, I might take a bit on Standard +0 in case the time comes when they start taking over.

Lommel vs Charleroi

Lommel is one of the promoted teams and they often do ok in their first home match. They got a 1-1 draw against stvv in week 1 showing that they are a team willing to have the ball and to take initiative. They also were better on the ball in the first half while the better chances were for the home team.In the 2nd half when they were up 0-1, they were pushed back and pretty much forced to defend which they did ok despite getting the 1-1 against. Charleroi played againt OHL in a match where a penalty and an early red card pretty much sealed things. They still got under pressure and condeded after OHL was with 10. in the 2nd half though they looked good. Today they are missing Kone, Keita, and Scheidler who are suspended while Guiagon is not in the squad. So overall today, they are very much weakeded compared to last season as Titraoui and Camara also left during the summer. I'm taking the angle of the 1st match of the promoted team with a 0.2 unit bet on Lommel +0.25 @ 2.030
