I'm down a bit more after Saturday at -1.32 units on the week and I feel I'm now left with the goal to just limit the damage on the week. However, I do feel that I lack focus while I also have just been dead wrong on some of my leans and bets which doesn't help with the overall confidence. So I'm now at a point where I either feel 'I have no clue' or 'the market likely will be smarter than me'. So I'm going into Sunday with some caution.
Kv Mechelen vs Charleroi
These teams already played in the cup during the mid-week which ended in a 2-0 win for Charleroi which was deserved as Mechelen had zero shots on goal in a match where overall quality was not that good. I always have seen Mechelen as a team who were bound to have a losing streak at some point during the season and this might very much might have started by now. However, the line and odds are set in a way that they are already in a 5+ game losing streak with bad play while they only lost 2 of their last 6 matches which included 3 top teams. Last week they had an off day at home against Standard where they lost 0-1 but they were missing Hammar who is back now. Charleroi have not played bad but also haven't been convincing especially away from home and have lacked sheer scoring power. I do expect this to be a match where both teams will want to win, but might not be good enough finishers to see a ton of goals. Mechelen has been a team this season with multiple matches where there have been a ton of corners while charleroi in each of their last 5 averaged 12.6. So I'm leaning toward a tiny bet on a revenge angle with a 0.1 unit bet on
Kv Mechelen +0.25 @ 1.900 as it remains a home match and the odds are set in a way where mechelen is on a big losing streak. I'm also leaning on an over in corners but will wait for better odds in-game.
Westerlo vs Anderlecht
Westerlo has not played bad lately but have failed to take any wins which now puts them in a playdown spot. They have the advantage of freshness as they were the only team from the first league to not play a mid-week match. Their main issue is a combination of bad variance and inefficiency on both sides. Anderlecht on the other hand has tanked a ton of confidence with 4 wins in a row in the league including opponents like Brugge & Union and they qualified in the cup against Genk. They did have to play exta time where they looked fresher than Genk who also have European match fatigue. I expect the high that they are on to outweight the extra fatigue they picked up in the cup. They do have some defensive worries With both Augustinson & Kana out while Hazard is suspended. However, Sardella has done well in defense and N'Diaye has shown capable in the past. They also have plenty of good options off the bench still. I try to avoind betting against trends and form so the only real choice is to back Anderlecht. I'm also leaning on the under but I'm kind of paranoid of how high the line is set similar to the stvv vs Club Brugge match yesterday which ended with 5 goals. Anderlecht away is 6W-1L on the under in away matches against the asian total and Westerlo at home is 7W-1L against it. I took 0.2 units on
Under 3 @ 1.989 & 0.1 units on
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.925 also with the option to possibly opt out in-game. I also would not be surprised if Anderlecht took the initiative at the start and Westerlo laid back initially making Anderlecht more likely to create corners. I'm waiting though for some kind of confirmation there.
Antwerp vs Genk
This is one of those matches that have been on my radar as Antwerp not only switched coach, but they also open tribune 2 today which will bring a lot of extra drive for the home team who did manage to beat Stvv in the cup during the mid-week in a 3-3 match with extra time and penalties. Antwerp has a small team and nothing really has changed when it comes down to the players they can field with very few options to do substitutions without losing quality. They also have some key injuries with Praet & Foulom. Genk was in a better flow with El Ouahdi back in the team while upping their xg in the last couple matches on the offensive and and lowering it a bit on the defensive side while still giving away chances. They also won in Europe against Basel which felt like it got them going until now where they lost in the cup against Anderlecht in a match where they were less fresh. So Fatigue is an issue for them but they also have enough option to bring in substitutes without too much quality loss. Today, I expect a match where Antwerp might have a belief that they can win and give it 100% with way more offensive football compared to when Wills was their coach and 2 teams who might suffer fatigue which makes it harder to close all the gaps. So I'm linking the over and also Genk who in the end is just the way better team. I took 0.1 unit on

OH Leuven vs Zulte-Waregem
OHL last week started out parking the bus against Genk while the week before at home they seemed willing to go forward against stvv. When they are behind and need to push they failed to create real chances but had plenty of corners. While in the match against Genk where they parked the bus they got a ton of corners against. Zulte-Waregem seems to be a bit off their cloud and are without a win in the last 6 matches taking plenty of draws all against average low-mid-table teams. This is the expected regression to the mean after they were overly efficient before. My lean on this one would be on OHL but at the same time I see the odds are quite fair. I'm just going to stay away from this one for now.
