These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, and injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...
If anything, I feel like I'm having a good focus at the start of the new season. I managed to make a bit of profit in the match yesterday and also spend 3+ hours watching different season and team previews to fully catch up on everything that has changed. 3 Matches on Saturday...
Dender vs Cercle Brugge
Dender had an excellent first season compared to their budget and oftentimes the 2nd season is a lot harder. It looks though that they are not fully ready yet. Their style last year was with a lot of pressing and intensity and there was a trend of home games going under and away games going over. In their last practice match they showed to be once again as a team that is hard to break down. Cercle Brugge has a new coach and looks to go back to the Muslic stype of pressing play but this time not fully skipping the midfield. They did see some key players leave with Somers, Brunner, Perin so it remains to be seen how ready they are. So I'm expecting 2 teams with high pressure mostly and high willingness to work, especially at the start of the match. I took a small 0.2 unit pre-game bet on
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.050. I also have a slight lean on Dender and Dender + corners but I need to see some kind of confirmation first for that.
Zulte-Waregem vs Kv Mechelen
Zulte-Waregem last time there were in the 1st league and also last season as one of the better teams in the 2nd division were a team who played quite open. However, this season as one of the teams that likely will fight against relegation, their coach talked about defense first and becomeing a team on transition. He also stated that he rather wanted to start away from home and I would not be surprised to see a match with more focus on the defense. Mechelen I still see as a rather mediocre team who have limited funds. Their coach talked about establishing a home reputation again so I expect very high willingness to work at home and a more counter-style play away from home. I took 0.25 units each yesterday already on
Under 2.75 @ 2.00 &
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.810. The odds unfortunately have gone up since but I'm not going to chase them and instead will look to opt outiif possible in-game.
La Louvière vs Standard
La Louvierre is a team who aimed to play a stable mid-table season in 2nd division with an eye to be competitive to take the title in 2027 but they managed to already now promote to the Pro League. They play on an artificial pitch and it's hard to see them turn out as a competitive team given that they promoted a couple years too soon. Standard last season with Leko played extremely defensively and got the max out of it compared to the quality they had. They have done a lot of transfers and it looks like they got a bit more quality this year with Nielsen, Henry, Ilaimaharitra along with some others. For me it just remain 2 teams that are a big question mark. I haven't see La Louviere pay yet and I'm not sure what the plans are from new coach Rednic in Standard.
