Whether single or both parents, what will be will be

Parenting refers to the process of raising and caring for a child from birth to adulthood. It involves providing physical, emotional, social, and psychological support to help children develop into healthy, happy, and well-adjusted individuals.

Sometimes, when the child doesn't have or gets all this from the parents, they tend to misbehave. In our society, a child who is raised by a single parent is seen as a wayward child cause that is what society has made us believe.

But I know of many children who grow up without complete parents, and they turn out very well. In fact, some of us didn't even grow up with anyone any of our parents at all, but we are doing well.

Let me give an instant of my neighbor's children. She went to the bush market, and she was barely at home; before she started the bush market, she used to sell small kiosks in front of her house. Now, there was this attitude she was always portraying; when her children woke up in the morning without brushing or even washing their faces, she would give them food, and when they were done eating, she wouldn't ask them to clear the plate.

But will call her maid to remove it, in the morning while they are going to school she will give them food and still give them money to buy something, now these children grow up getting whatever they want, if they are not getting what they want, they will cry till she gets it for them and when you talk, she will say they will change as time goes on. Their father is the worst, he doesn't even correct the kids at all.

How can a child eat a full plate of rice, and you give him one thousand naira note to buy whatever he wants, and there is no food at home. Before 10am that morning, he had finished the whole one thousand naira that was given to him.

Your maid wants to beat him for being wasteful, and all he can say is let him be. When the girl insists that the child is learning a bad character, you beat her in front of the child and ask if the money is her money or her useless parent's money.

From this above example, trust me that child will grow up to be wasteful. But he has both parents with him. Parenting, to me,, is not about who is present or absent but how far are they instilling morals in the life of the child.

Although I love it when both parents who know what it takes to bring up a child are present than both been present but absent too. That's if you understand what I mean.

I didn't grow up with both parents, but with my grandmother, they were always busy with their daily hustle, so my grandmother decided to take me, and I am glad she did cause most of what I know today is all thanks to her.

There are no consequences for a child being raised by single parents. It's always the same consequence to me whether single or both parents, train your children well.
