Never envy anyone

Sometimes when we see people, we just wish we were like them even though we don't know what they are going through in life.You might be wondering why God made them so beautiful and even rich.But what we don't know is that most people we admire also admire us too and want to be us.

When I was in secondary school, I used to wish to be like my darling friend who was from a wealthy home. God, she was drop-dead gorgeous. She had a pointed nose, straight legs, and was very slim. Her clothes were always ironed, and she carried herself with such grace that the rest of us looked like her servants.

But there was one problem: she hardly smiled and she was always a bully. At first, I would always ask my mother why my friend had straight legs and I didn't.Funny thing is that I have a straight leg like hers, a pointed nose like hers, but she was fair and I had dark skin. That's why I always think she was more beautiful.I will say to myself, when I grow up, I will make sure to tell the doctor to give me a straight leg. Ha!How innocent we are.

Long story short, I later stopped envying my friend and started pitying her when I noticed that she wasn't a happy child; both parents hardly cared for her. I no longer wanted to be like her. In fact, I became very happy and content with whatever my parents give to me.That's when I started telling myself that you are beautiful.

If there is one thing I would love to change about myself, which I see as a weakness, it is my kind heart. I am so soft-hearted that at times I just pray my children won't be as soft-hearted as me. It has caused so many people to take me for granted.
