Gloom Owl, Tarantula Loom and Card Sharp in Soulkeep
In Soulkeep, when I reached a difficult level filled with Fiends on all sides, I decided to completely change my strategy and rely on a few powerful towers that helped me pass the stage with difficulty but success.
The first tower I installed was the Gloom Owl, and it's truly one of the best towers for attacking flying targets. Its attack is single-shot and has only five uses, but what sets it apart is its extremely fast rate of fire (per second), dealing damage ranging from 60 to 140, making any flying Fiend disappear quickly.
After that, I realized I needed something to target a group of Fiends when they congregate in one place, so I chose the Tarantula Loom. This tower played a significant role because it attacks an area, not just a single target, and this helped me control the crowd. Its damage is also somewhat constant (from 60 to 75), but it covers a large explosion area of 95. It also slows enemies for up to half a second, allowing me to deal with them before they reached the gate.
Finally, I used the Card Sharp tower, which has very fast attacks. This was excellent as a continuous support to complement the other towers. Its attack speed made it work very well with the rest of the formation, especially when pressure was coming from multiple directions.
What I learned from this experience is that the variety of towers makes all the difference. Each tower has a different use, and you must understand its capabilities well to distribute them correctly and repel attacks from all directions. What increased the effectiveness of the formation was the correct timing of each tower. Soulkeep requires planning and tactics, not just placing towers and that's it.
