What would you do if you had a Death Note in your hands? [ENG/ESP]

If such a power existed, maybe it would be hard to resist, don't you think? Death Note is one of those stories that permeate the human consciousness, maybe that's why I like it so much, and no matter how many times I watch it, it doesn't bore me at all, seeing the war of wits and the madness of human greed definitely catches my attention a lot.

The way it unfolds seems excellent to me, and in this sense I can only praise its mangaka Tsugumi Ohba for his masterful work. Now, getting into the subject, having a Death Note in our hands could be a huge temptation to use it, even considering the consequences.

I think the mangaka's main objective was to lead us to reflection and also to make a self-criticism of human morality. Yagami Light, his main character could be said to embody a dark side of humanity, while L (L Lawliet) represents that thirst for legal justice to which one must appear.

This simple scenario becomes a masterpiece, due to the masking and uncovering situations that both characters develop throughout the story bring to light the ingenuity of the human mind, competitiveness and coldness to achieve a goal.

I remember when I saw it years ago, I was very young and immature, and at that time I might consider the idea of using it if I had one in my hands, but today, a little more mature and with another worldview, I would definitely never use it, and that is the point where I think its author wanted to get, to make us see the evil that we can cause if we use any kind of "power" in an excessive way.

Yagami Light, had everything in his hands, excellent student, handsome with many admirers, abysmal intelligence, but, he was bored, and based on that boredom he made decisions that in the end turned him into a serial killer, an unhinged man who thought he was a God and paid for it with his life.

Clearly boredom can lead us to do things that we might regret later, for that reason we must have a fresh mind and not neglect our main objectives in this life.

Now, as for the story I have already said that I think it is excellent, however I want to highlight some negative things, or rather, I didn't like them. After the death of "L" I consider that the plot went downhill, and it is understandable on the one hand, since after reaching such a point, ending the story could have been complicated.

L Lawliet's successors, Near and Mello are very inferior, and their entry into the story doesn't add much flavor to that battle of wits you were used to, I think the events after the demise was a quick way to end the story and not expand it much more.

Its ending, I thought was fitting, a bit simplistic in my opinion, but the right one, Yagami Light dies because of the same power for which he took many lives. In conclusion, it is an interesting series, that makes us think, and perhaps, leads our mind to imagine things that we can never do. If you haven't seen it I hope you do, and remember, I await your answer to the question of this post in the comments.

![Spanish Version]

¿No te parece?

This is one of my favorite anime , now we are opposite coz before i dont like to use it but now id love to gain such power hahaha but if people exists like L and near I'll get caught fast 😂 hahaha

I agree with you when L died, the show didn't feel the same, it doesn't have the same excitement when near came into picture, all that i could think of while finishing the anime is to see how they can figure out if light is the culprit

Hahaha, I understand you want to use it in this day and age, you just have to be smarter than Light so you don't get caught in the end.

Yeah, it was pretty bland after L's death, but despite that dip in quality, it entertains until its denouement.

This is the only Manga I ever read and I loved every minute of it. I just cant get into the anime though!

Personally Light, in my eyes, is the prime example of Abosulte power corrupts abosultely. He believes the ends justify the means even if itll cost him his soul.

While L is the complete opposite. He understands that doing an evil deed for a "good reason" turns that reason into an evil one.

L Lawliet's successors, Near and Mello are very inferior, and their entry into the story doesn't add much flavor to that battle of wits you were used to, I think the events after the demise was a quick way to end the story and not expand it much more.

I can't remember much about them from the manga but I remember finding them completely lacklustre compared to L!

Yes, my friend, that's right, they are total opposites. But the graphic description that the mangaka did with them was a masterpiece that shows us how human nature is. They are the two sides of the coin.

On the other hand, the anime pales in comparison to the manga, but being an adaptation it is acceptable.

You Rockkk!!! 👍😎🔥❤️

Jajaja, excelente comentario amigo.

An extremely excellent story, the point that made it stand out was the fact that a protagonist who gets a power was not transformed into a pure superhero, but was going down a bad path and the power went to his head to the point of not knowing if he was a villain or someone good, that was masterful 😲

When L died the story lost a bit of sense, but as I liked more to see the mess that Yagami was getting into I didn't feel it too much haha don't hate me 😂

Hahaha easy. I think seeing Yagami's denouement was one of the things many of us wanted to witness. For my part he's one of the characters in all the anime and manga that I wanted to see die haha. I felt a lot of satisfaction when the Shinigami took his life, even though he would possibly die from the injuries he had.

It is complex to determine whether or not to use the Death Note, but there are certainly many situations in which we would be tempted to use it. There is always going to be that debate. Thanks for sharing with us this interesting post. Best regards!

I think it is very possible that in the end we will be tempted to use it haha. We are very changeable beings

Me gustó mucho tu pregunta.😉

With the current situation in the world, I wish I could have this book or at least that there was a very appropriate person who could use DEATH NOTE to improve the world by cleaning up the bad guys or at least the masterminds behind all the chaos that is happening right now.

And I want a situation where the time of their death is witnessed live by almost the entire world. When it's live, they describe the mastermind behind the riots and reveal secret plans. And at the end, they will say "Hi, everyone. Do you know if SHINIGAMI likes apples?"

Then people who know about DEATH NOTE will be excited because they know that DEATH NOTE, which has been made up, has become real and spread thoroughly throughout the world. After that, humanity will probably split into several groups like what happened in the story, some worship the owner of DEATH NOTE and hope that he will kill the people they hate. Some are scared because their faces and names are public and they feel they have committed a crime (they are afraid that they will be the next target), and some are trying to prevent it by finding out the owner of this book (or maybe killing him outright if he is the owner of DEATH NOTE)

The point is, under what thought or worldview can one human being judge another when he is just as bad as he is?

In the end he would be nothing more than a deranged murderer pretending to be God, the same as Yagami was.

The point is that one cannot be free from the consequences of that power.
