the government don't need our privacy to protect us
Good day, amazing people of the Hive blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, PRIVACY OR SECURITY.

Seeing this prompt, I keep smiling at myself because I just imagine how we got to where we are today. Some countries that are facing bad systems of government have to give up their privacy just to make sure they are safe and protected. The level of insecurity in the world today is really alarming. People are living in fear; people are very careful of things they do and where they go. It is very crazy that one will give out their private life just to be protected.
Having the government unfettered access to your life, they will monitor your calls, messages, and even secrets that you put away from family and friends. That means the government will have full access to my life and my movement. I will not be surprised if people give in to this because of their safety; everyone is living in fear. One minute there is peace, the next minute you will hear that there is masaka going on in a state. The issue of insecurity in my country is now a serious thing, and people are ready to give in their private lives to the government if that will protect them.
On a second thought, I ask myself how I am sure that if I give the government access to my life, they will protect it, knowing full well that they don't care about the citizens. For years now we have been crying due to insecurity in my country. In the last two weeks in Jos, there was Masaka; thousands of people lost their lives, but the government didn't do anything. From the look of things, I don't think that these people think about us; they care about their own safety. How sure am I that giving them access to my personal life will guarantee my safety?
To be honest, if this offer were thrown to me, I would reject it. I love my privacy. What is life without me having privacy? If the government wants to secure the country, they will with or without them having access to my privacy; they will protect the country and the citizens. I can't just imagine the government monitoring my movement and my conversations all in the name of what? To protect me? I am so not comfortable with the government having access to my personal life. Believe me, one day the government will abuse it. I don't know why I am so scared of the government having access to life, but a lot of thoughts keep running in my mind. What if they use the information they have access to against me? What if the information is misunderstood and I will suffer for what I don't know?
If the government wants to keep us safe, they will do that, and it has nothing to do with our privacy. The safety of the citizens should be the duty of the government.

Government just need to employ more officers, give them go salaries and get them advanced weapons to combat insecurity, not invading our privacy.
that is just it my love
Thank you very much for the points you stated in this post. One is abuse of power and privilege. The people working in the security bands of government institutions are all humans so it would be unrealistic to think that they will be always moral, especially when they know that their access to more power is dependent on them following orders that lean towards abuse of their power.
The other case is the fact that every government can protect its citizens without needing unfettered access to their daily lives. Knowing this, it would be unwise to give up ones privacy for security.
thank you for stopping by the government don't access to our privacy before the can protect the citizen
