Sports unite people
Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, the world of sports.
If there is something I love so much, it is football. I am a diehardof football. Whenever there is a football match, it matters, especially if it is my club I love so much. I am ready to watch the match even if it is midnight most times. If my club loses a match, I will go to bed without eating. Whenever I am watching football, I hate being distracted, and everyone in the family knows how much I love football.
One thing about football is it unites people together. If there is anything that puts a smile on my face, it is watching a football match in a view centre. It is always fun. There you will meet many people that are supporting the same club as yours. You guys will click and unite. For me, there is joy that comes with football, more especially when the club you are supporting is playing well and they are winning. You will be overwhelmed. There is no dull moment in the world of sports.
For me sport cannot and will never be a waste of resources. Sport is one of the things that unites people together, and people come out in mass to watch and support. The very first day I went to the stadium to watch the match live, the feeling was something else. I was shouting on top of my voice, and my happiness had no bounds because the club I was supporting won the match. Whenever the World Cup and Olympics approach, I don’t joke with it; the joy and excitement are something else.
I understand the fact that when organising for a sport, a lot of money is involved to make sure that both the players and their fans are safe. Even if countries spend a lot to host this match for someone like me, I don’t see it as a waste of money because it brings people together. Most times it shocks me how football is able to put a smile on my face even when I am angry.
For me, hosting international sports events is never a waste of money; it helps in economic growth, unity and tourism, and the host community benefits more. The money used in building those stadiums is never a waste because the stadiums don’t disappear. Every sector has money allocated to them, so when it comes to sport, it is not a waste.
Sport has a way of uniting and bringing joy; during that moment, people forget their problems. International sports events are not a waste of money; the joy and togetherness are worth whatever resources are put into them.
