Neighbor turn family
Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, 'Know thy neighbour'.
The way the world is going, the majority of people now mind their business; they don’t mingle into people’s business. They will wake up in the morning, dress up for their daily activities, and when they are at home, they will be indoors minding their business. That is why you can live in an estate for months without knowing your neighbourhood because everyone is minding their business.
When I was a child it was not like this; everyone was looking out for each other. Our neighbours will always look out for us whenever my mom is not around. On several occasions my neighbours have punished me for doing something wrong, and when my mom comes to pick me up, my neighbours will tell my mom that she has to punish me because I did something wrong. My mom will thank her for correcting me. Then my mom was so comfortable leaving us with our neighbour because she knew even in her absence our neighbour was capable of taking care of me and my siblings.
Coming to our generation now, nobody has that time to look out for their neighbours. I don’t blame anyone for minding their business; the world is evil, and everyone is trying to be careful. There is this popular saying that it is the one who knows you that will kill you. That is why most neighbours prefer to stay on their own and mind their business. Seriously connecting with neighbours is gradually fading away because everyone is living in fear.
Coming to the prompts, if there is an emergency at home, will I be able to trust my neighbours with your home? When it comes to neighbours, I will happily say I have the best neighbours. We always look out for each other and assist if need be. I have this relationship with my neighbours that when I wash my cloth and it rains, they will help me to take it in, and when I am back from work, I will pick up my cloth from the neighbour's apartment.
Early last month I was so down, to a point I couldn’t do anything without someone assisting me. I have no family living with me. My neighbour will always come around to help me; she makes sure I take my drugs, and she also cooks for me. Like, I will always tell her, ‘What will I do without her?’ She has always been a shoulder I can lean on.
Just like the way she assists me, I also assist her in my own way. Whenever she needs my help, I don’t fail to help. She is the kind of neighbour I have always prayed for.
It is very important to be a good neighbour to be around; you treat them with love and kindness. Of course, you can relate with people around you. I understand you are trying to be careful; you can still establish healthy boundaries while supporting your neighbour.

You're right, this generation we are now people are now minding their own business. If it was before neighbours take good care of themselves and help themselves in time of need but now even if someone doesn't have food their neighbours will even do as if they know about it. I must say your neighbours are really nice and it's rare to see people like them.
The rate at which people mind their business these days needs to be studied. One time my neighbour packed out and someone else packed in, I didn't see the new neighbour for almost 2 months after he entered. The guy was always indoors or he would leave very early.
Especially now that delivery bikes can deliver almost anything to you without having to go out.
