Arcade Colony: Your Complete Guide to Signing Up with Hive 🎮

In this opportunity I want to expand my gaming content, which is mostly focused for "Splinterlands", with the intention of exploring the "Arcade Colony" ecosystem, besides, I am a Splinterlands player and/or investor who loves the Hive ecosystem and we know how exciting it is to dive into a new NFT game, and even more so when we already have our Hive account ready, so, taking advantage of my experience, join me to explore how is the process to join Arcade Colony, a platform that promises a lot and that, luckily for us, comes from one of the same creators of Splinterlands.

So, I designed this little guide to facilitate precisely that entry, taking advantage of the familiarity with the Hive ecosystem to make the entry to Arcade Colony as smooth as navigating through the menus of an already known game (such as Splinterlands), also with this post I seek to provide a clear and detailed path for more users to join this ecosystem of games, thus expanding their horizons in the world of "PlayToEarn" type games.

Here you will not only play, as this ecosystem manages its own economy and has its own tokens, which are: SCRIPT (a stable currency used for transactions, basically fulfills the same function of the DEC token in Splinterlands, but more stable) and COLONY being this (the governance token, which can give you a say in the future of the platform).

If you already play Splinterlands, you are half way there, your Hive account is like your digital identity on the "Hive" network, as it is a unique account that allows you to interact with a lot of decentralized applications (DApps) and games on the Hive network, including Splinterlands and of course the "Arcade Colony" games, also, before writing this, I made sure to ask on their official server to create an account, since my husband has one as well and they have given me a positive answer for the creation of my account.

Let's remember that your Hive account comes with different Keys or also called Keys, which are: (Posting, Active, Owner and Memo). Each one has a specific function, but in general, you can use them to play and make transactions within the games, the active key is the most common and the one used to transfer tokens in and out of the network, but if you don't want to complicate things, the safest and easiest way is to use Hive Keychain, a Google extension that manages your keys in one place.

Although there is no super-detailed step-by-step manual for registering with Arcade Colony, (their website is more of a presentation of the platform), basically a concept of what it is, don't worry, since it is practically related to Splinterlands and uses the Hive network, the process will be very familiar and is very straightforward as well as intuitive.

Here I will explain the process based on my experience with Splinterlands and other Hive DApps:

• Visit the Official Site: The first thing is to go to the Arcade Colony home page. Look for a button that says "Login", "Play" or "Connect Wallet" (or something similar).

• Choose Connect with Hive: Surely, just like in Splinterlands, you will see the option to log in with your Hive Account using "Hive Keychain", Click there.

• Authorize with Hive Keychain: This is the key step and the one we have already mastered, when you click on connect to Hive, a popup window of your Hive Keychain (your browser extension) will open. Here you will be asked to authorize the connection between Arcade Colony and your Hive account, simply confirm the transaction.

• Once you authorize the connection to Hive Keychain: your Hive account will be linked to Arcade Colony, and you will be logged in, and this action will redirect you to a control panel and/or to the ecosystem interface where your games are located.

• Tip: Always make sure you are on the official Arcade Colony website (https://www.arcadecolony.com/), this is to avoid phishing scams, safety first with all things "Web3" related.

If for some reason you can't connect your Hive account, here are some tricks that we usually use when Splinterlands gives us war:

• ✅Check Hive Keychain: Make sure your Hive Keychain is unlocked and that you are logged in correctly with your Hive account. Sometimes just closing and opening the browser or restarting the Keychain will fix it.

• 🌐 Internet connection: It seems obvious, but an unstable connection can cause connection failures with the Hive network.

• 🔄 Update Browser: Make sure your web browser is updated to the latest version.

• 💻 Cache and Cookies: Sometimes clearing your browser's cache and cookies can solve loading and connection problems.

• 📝 Keychain Permissions: Verify in your Hive Keychain settings that permissions for Arcade Colony (once you try to connect) are enabled.

• 🙇 Pacience: The blockchain sometimes has its moments. If it doesn't work the first time, wait a few minutes and try again.
