HIVE Goals | 2025 Edition | Week #49
We are in Week #49 of 2025 so another update on my goals for 2025 (because I may have completely forgotten about these posts and I think it's time I get back into it and check in)

So.... basically what we learned today is that I grossly underestimated myself and what I could achieve in the year 2025!
And let's be honest... The reason I BLEW past my Splinterlands goal is because of my "Whale For A Day" posts... I have made 7 "Whale For A Day" posts so far and I think I am going to keep it that way for now. I need to stop just throwing $$ at Splinterlands... for a while at least! 😁
Recap of 2025 so far....
- I started to play Crownrend and did pretty well for myself if I do say so. I made back all my initial investment and then some. Not to mention me making some $$ from writing a guide on Crownrend and earn the top spot for that competition!
But then Crownrend went under and we are all still waiting to see what comes out of the ashes like a Phoenix!
- Splinterlands has been a blast. I started a second account "Swagnar-Ragnar" to be my daily playing account. My main account (this one 'Cherokee4Life') is used to play in WILD format with a bot and also is my account for all my LAND plots. It also does the Conflicts... not like I have won anything from them yet though.
- I started up my own Witness Node for the Hive Blockchain! But then tragedy struck and it went offline for what seemed like months! But as of this morning my Node is back online with the latest version 1.28.3 of hived. I am just waiting for it to produce a block so that it doesn't appear "stale" on the list of witnesses: https://peakd.com/me/witnesses
You can read about my Witness Node update here where i talke about what happened and what I am doing to fix it! - I was bored 1 day and while messing around in my home lab I decided to spin up a VSC node as well! I think you need 2,000 HP staked to the node in order for it to actually earn anything. I don't have an extra 2,000 Hive laying around to stake to a layer-2 chain so I am not earning anything but it's still fun to spin up nodes to help decentralize the Hive blockchain!
Disclaimer: I created the 'witness4all' account solely to be my Hive Witness Account and only that. I wanted to keep it separate from my main account for "reasons". But when I was struggling with my Node I ran into a few problems and (at least at time or posting this) that Node still has not gotten the chance to produce a block so it has not been updated. I decided to spin up another Node on a separate PC and I set that up to be a Witness Node associated with my 'cherokee4life' account.
So as of December 2nd, Cherokee4Life is a Witness but it too has not produced a single block yet. So it doesn't even appear in the list of witnesses. I don't know if I will keep both nodes up and running long term. I was thinking about having 2 and basically shipping one to a friend's house who lives far away from me so that both nodes are not running in the same physical network but I honestly may just uncheck the witness account in the config file to my cherokee4life node but keep it running so that I will have a back up node in case something happens to my main Node PC... time will tell.

🐳 Next Year! 🐳
I have a bunch of plans for next year and most I am going to keep close to my chest because my life has been known to throw me curveballs right at the worst times.
I am going to set new goals for myself for next year and now I know more of what to expect as this year was my first full year back in HIVE. I came back RIGHT before January of 2025 so I had all year to worth through my ebbs and flows and life-work-hive-hobbies-etc.
What I will say though is that Local AI is a main focus professionally and personally so you will see more of that from me. I will also say that I have started to brainstorm a massive project that will cover 2 communities on Hive! It is going to involve multiple of my hobbies!
HIVE + Gaming + Crypto + Woodworking + 3D printing + 3D Modelling + Local AI Generative AI + ?!?!?!?!?!

It's a shame Crownrend went under and I really hope for it to be reborn in a better way, well I don't mean it wasn't good but apparently it wasn't sustainable. As an outsider it always looked like a cool game I just found the $20 starting price too high.
I know what you did what that sneak peak! It's a lot of work but it will be awesome, good luck with it!
I think Crownrend WAS sustainable, the problem is that they game that was first introduced was a decent (I think great) foundation of a browser based strategy game. Then they started to add sooo much to the game and completely change the way the entire game played and honestly the game became a "Dark Throne" clone basically but was wayyy to convaluted and overcomplicated to fast.
OR at least that I what I remember as the reason it went dark. You can still login to the website but you can't (at least not me) attack people are earn anymore Denar.. which is sad :(
And thank you, Honestly without you this year I don't think I would have progressed as fast as I did so thank you, truly!
I am already starting to dive into my "project" I got a few 5+ hours flights coming up next week where I plan to work in Blender on my laptop and knock out a bunch of the 3D modelling hopefully
I think we all complement each other in our little guild, likewise I'm having a lot more fun now I've met you guys since my other guild is active but not very talkative 😅
