Personal Growth Through SMART Goals

PERSONAL GROWTH AND GOALS What is one goal you are currently working toward? What life lessons have had the biggest impact on you?

Hello #scifimultiverse, I trust you are doing well. In the personal pursuit of life endeavours and the desire for financial independence. I have continuously strived to develop and improve myself. This involves the holistic development and improvement of my skills and competencies to remain relevant to my chosen career and other areas I pursue.

One goal I am currently working on is financial freedom through multiple, streamlined sources of income. This is strategically positioned through well-thought-out plans, but out of fear and procrastination, I have not pursued them to a logical conclusion. However, this year, I started working on certifications that will allow me to independently consult for firms outside my working hours or as my side hustle to earn some funds.

Surprisingly, I have been getting clients through my LinkedIn page, and it has been on a roller coaster level for me. Sometimes, I wonder what I have been waiting for all through the years, and where I would have been if I had started early on this terrain.

Through this journey of personal growth and setting goals, life has taught me that success belongs to the tough. People who do not easily quit against all odds. Resilient and unwavering people. I have learnt that success evolves continuously and is not a destination. I must keep improving to keep succeeding and remain relevant.

Additionally, I do not play with setting goals; I ensure that I set SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) goals, and each time I meet my set goals, I move on to the next need according to my vision and mission for the year. I also make time to reflect on my goals. If there are obstacles or reasons to review them, I use the SMART tool.

Benefits of personal development and goal setting include having direction in our purpose-driven lives. It prepares us for the future. Just like the saying that preparedness meets opportunity. When we are not prepared, we miss opportunities. But when we develop ourselves and grow, over time, we become subtly indispensable.
