My Transitioning : Painting A bigger Picture

NAVIGATING TRANSITION AND CHOICES

Hello #scifimultiverse, thank God it's Friday. I welcome you to my blog. Distractions have always been an issue; no wonder a popular proverb says that “ a hunter who pursues two rats catches none”.

As a person, I do not cherish distraction, and as a result, I love staying in the office and attending to my tasks before noon so that I can coordinate other activities in the factory and office complex. However, I do take up so many tasks at the same time, and as a result, some do fall off my plate without being noticed.

Last week, I outlined several tasks I want to action after our management meeting. I was supposed to break them down into bits, but I didn’t because I wanted to complete all the tasks within the given timeline. By the time we met this week to update the management, I noticed from my report that I had omitted a task. This kind of omission, whenever it happens, drains me because it takes another round of time and additional strength to accomplish such tasks.

Additionally, when people poke into the activities of my department excessively and try to get information that does not concern them, it drains me. Sometimes, rumours will spring up from nowhere in the organisation. Instantly, employees will start flooding my department to make inquiries.

Most often, they cross their boundaries at the same time. Such a period can be frustrating and draining because we exert a lot of strength engaging and trying to clear the information, and probably initiate departmental employee engagement or a town hall to address the issue.

Furthermore, looking over the next six months, one area of my life I would like to transition is obtaining my license in my major career cycle. Honestly, it has been a wonderful journey so far, but obtaining my license and going through my final exams successfully would not only be a realistic win for me but a milestone in my career.

However, they said that slow and steady wins the race. I am intentionally working through my paths. Crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s while keeping my eyes on the ball.
