Day 2920 | Beach Sunrise, Cave Visit & Evening Market Food

Saturday was our first full day in Sam Roi Yot and the plan was to wake up very early around 05:30 to catch the sunrise on the beautiful beach. So we got up in time while it was still somewhat dark but there were clouds so it was hard to actually see the sun come up.

It was still a very enjoyable experience though as it slowly got lighter and lighter.

We also walked the beach a bit and there was this friendly street dog who walked with us all the way and back which was really nice.

By the time we got back around 07:20 it was mostly light already but the breakfast only opened at 07:30 so we waited a bit for that taking some more pictures.

We ate together choosing from plenty of options in the morning breakfast buffet sitting just along the pool.

Once done, we got ourself ready for the activity of the day which was visiting the Phraya Nakhon Cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. It was much harder to find a grab/bolt/taxi that anticipated but eventually we got someone to take us there even though it took 40 minutes for the driver to get to us.

The weather was not that hot though thanks to the clouds and there are worse places to wait than a perfect quiet beach setting in one of those huts with a roofop.
The driver picked us up and was very talkative and fun with his translation app and he also offered to take us back to the hotel once we were done giving us his whatsapp details.

Once we arrived at the location, I got us tickes for the entry of the cave 2x200 Baht along with hiring a boat so we could skip the first 30 Minutes of the walk and have a fun experience which it was as we needed to go through a muddy part of the sea first to reach the boat.

We had a 30-Minute walk up to the cave which were mostly steep stairs first up a long way and afterward down a bit again. It was a really nice hike though and a good thing the Sun was not in full force.

Eventually we reached the cave which was much bigger than it looks on the pictures with the open top and the building inside. After some long photoshoots we headed back which was mostly downstairs and much easier. I contacted the guy on Grab and his wife came to pick up up back to our hotel where we slept a bit in the early afternoon and also went for a swim in the pool.
Early in the evening, we went out with the idea to go to a Korean BBQ place just beyond the restaurant we went to on Friday but it was not that clear and there were some lights and sound on the beach which turned out to be a market/festival so we explored that and got some food there on the beach not far from the sea and some line Thai Music.

We mostly got some of the meats there and once done headed back to our hotel where we both were super tired from the day and got to sleep quite early.
Next Day Goals: Part 3 will come this evening with the only real plans to check out before 11:30 and make some plans on the spot of what to do or visit in the afternoon before heading back to Hua Hin.

Oh, I enjoyed reading your blog. I feel like I was there. The surroundings are truly beautiful and relaxing. The doggie is co cutie, too!😍
Thanks, I hope these blogs also will give me some way to relive the experience one day in the future.
