Day 2878 | My First Muay Thai Boxing Class

I started a challenge of taking 100 days off to mainly focus on my health and overall personal development and used this account as a personal blog to keep track of all my activity. I enjoyed it and continued afterward trying to build better habits and find a good balance between health, fitness, work, entertainment, and my personal life...

I started Tuesday by cooking up some eggs as breakfast which honestly weren't that great I guess maybe because the pan was new. I will be switching between that and oatmeal as breakfast in the coming month.

I followed that up by joining my first ever Muay Thai Boxing class which was quite ok as I right off the bat got to talk with an American guy who was really friendly and explained me how things go. It pretty much starts with a 10-minute warm up where you just run some laps around the boxing ring, this is followed by 10 minutes of rope skipping all at your own pace so you can take it easy which I did on the first class. Some mild stretching comes afterward and than they prepare you by wrapping some bands around your hands.

Since it was my first time, I got some private instructions after before they put on boxing gloves and the rest of the session is pretty much filled with some boxing on a bag or sparring with a coach. It's quite accessible and also something only done by tourists.

I went for a swim right after and took a nap before heading out mainly looking for another lap which I walked a long time for just to see none of the shops I hoped for had it and the furthest store was even out of business it seemed. The good things is that I got in a lot of steps

I also walked by an alleyway where there were some vendors near Hua Hin Night Market

Especially near the center of the town, there is a poor smell hanging around. Eventually I got back to market village where I bough some more things and found a small Battery-usb-c powered lamp which I bought that works perfect for my bed. I will go get another one on Wednesday which will make me set up properly. I also got a cheap but good looking clock only to see it came with no battery and when turing the seconds it gives a small clicking sound, so that likely will be useless.

I also got some Elecrolyles but they came in rather sugarry power drinks so I'm not sure if I really want to get a lot of that. Eventually, I went to the basement and got some food choosing Tom Yum Goong which had tons of flavor but was a bit messy to eat as there was Koreander in it which I don't like so I had it put that on the side and the shrimps were not too easy to eat as I needed to peal them myself.

It is a dish that I would take again though but asking without Koreander.

Eventually I went back to my condo, had another swim and chatted on my phone with a couple Bumble matches and some friends before going to bed having a good night sleep.

Next Day Goals: I will join another morning Thai Boxing Class, go for a swim, do some more shopping getting another lamp and possibly shome shoes and short pants while I will try to arrange a date in the evening or otherwise go out eating alone again.

you are really turning your life around! I did a Muay Thai class not that long ago and it was a lot more cardio than you described lol. They must be taking it easy on you because you are new...and there's nothing wrong with that!

Today it was already a step up as yesterday I got a lot of personal instructions because it was my first time. A class is 2 full hours but I do feel that they are making it quite acessible since onlt western people follow these group classes. So far, it is exactly what I was looking for, I really feel the workout but it's not impossible. 24 more classes to go at this point.

That sounds a lot more approachable than the other camps I have heard of. It's great exercise though, that is for sure. you're killing it!
