Day 2875 | Walking, Shopping, Getting a Manicure, & Swimming

I started a challenge of taking 100 days off to mainly focus on my health and overall personal development and used this account as a personal blog to keep track of all my activity. I enjoyed it and continued afterward trying to build better habits and find a good balance between health, fitness, work, entertainment, and my personal life...

Days here in Thailand feel a lot longer that in Belgium and Saturday was a pretty busy one as I was set out to explore Blueport Mall to get some more stuff for my studio. I also feel like I'm the only one who does everything on foot here and in the 3 days here, I actually averaged over 30k steps which is quite crazy especially as the heat is no real limiting factor.

The main thing I was out to get was some kind of table for next to my bed and a lamp as this isn't there in the condo that I'm renting. I didn't find this at the Blueport Mall though so after walking there for a while, I made the walk toward Market Village Mall where I did manage to get an affordable lamp for around 10€ and also a shirt to wear during my upcoming Muay Thai boxing classes.

There are also a lot of nail stands in the basement of the Mall and I always wanted to try something like that out, so for 200 Baht (~5.6€), I got a basic manicure which took around 20-30 minutes I assume. I kind of enjoyed the process and the result is ok but also nothing spectacular.

On my way back to my condo, I stopped by the Seven Eleven were I picked up some "healthy" food items which I ate once I got home. installed the lamp I bought and my condo is starting to feel a bit more like home especially because of the small JBL boxes that I bought the day before.

I went for a quick swim and did some texting afterward to friends and family. I headed out again first to go inform at the Muay Thai Boxing Club and afterward just to explore the area a bit and continue to be amazed how much businesses, market, night food courts there are here. I stumbled upon the Baan Khun Por Food court which was actually quite active. I ended up eating there rice noodles with fish and curry coconut sauce which was ok but not something that gets on my list of things that I would instantly order again.

I keep being stunned how crazy affordable everything is here especially the food as for just a couple euro you can have a multi course royal meal. I also got myself a Coconut Smoothie No Sugar which was really good.

Once back home it was around 20:00 and I felt like going for another swim which was great again alone in a swimming pool where the lights were turned on.

There was the Champions League match in the evening which kind of gave me a reason to go out and find a spot to possibly watch it. However, it mainly turned out in a long walk as I was not comfortable going into places where they broadcast it were there were few people while at the same time the ones that were more crowded I never saw a suited spot that was free for me to sit. So I basically searched for a super specific setup which lies within my comfort zone which I didn't find.

Once back, it was already quite late and I went to bed after some screen time chatting with a match on Bumble who I likely will meet soon and I went to bed.

Next Day Goals: I don't have that much planned on Sunday. The idea is to go to Market Village again and try out the food court there and get another shirt for my Muay Thai Boxing as I only bought one yesterday while I will need multiple. I will see where the rest of the day takes me.

Aren't food prices at least from local restaurants and food markets similar in the Phillipines ?

Hmmmm...I can't say now because everything here is expensive. Every time there are wars in the world, prices of even basic commodities tend to increase significantly.
