Two Servings of Bland
Lately, I haven't bothered going out for lunch when I'm at work. I'll usually grab a snack, my coffee and call that good. That frees up time for me to browse Hive, comment on posts and curate.
Yesterday, I decided to go out for lunch. I didn't care to get anything special. I ended up grabbing two spicy chicken sandwiches from Carl's Jr. I usually get them plain, since I don't care for lettuce and tomato on my sandwiches. The sandwiches were so bland I only ate half of them.
The bun had more flavor than the chicken. I ended up throwing them out. Other than their breakfast, I think I'm over eating anything else from Carl's Jr.

Too warm to cook this evening so my kids and I are having sandwiches for dinner. +30⁰ C I'll be wearing non-black clothing for a change.

Nothing wrong with sandwiches. Every once in a while I like to go through the deli counter selections at the grocery store and build my own Italian sandwich. 😁
So I'm curious. If you're not wearing black, what's your second favorite alternative?

Red tends to be my secondary especially in the winter months.
Summers depends on the outfits fabric as a light weight breathable cotton or layered polyester. When it's hot, over +30C, casual as any oversized Tee and leggings.

We don't have any of those near where I live. We do have a Hardee's about a half hour away, but I don't think that is the same. Sorry they weren't great. I did have a similar experience recently with some bratwurst I bought.
So Hardee's is actually the sister company to Carl's Jr. The menu items are similar but not exactly the same.
Oh man, that's even worse with bland bratwurst! That's a crime! 🙁

I honestly think that US fast food chains located internationally probably taste worlds better than the bland stuff we have here. The burgers aren't bad, but these chicken sandwiches had no taste to them.
I can make a better tasting burger than Carl's Jr. from frozen patties and ingredients from the grocery aisle, and probably at 1/5 the price considering how many burgers I could make. The real cost is the convenice.

Carl's Jr might be the best burger from fast food chain here. only non chain one could beat them, but they got out of business years ago. Last year or a couple years ago they got a new master franchisee but I haven't seen any of their new outlet yet.
Burger king had given up on burger and they joined McDonald focusing on their fried chicken.
Is beef more expensive there? That might be why they shifted, especially if there's not as big of cultural history associating it with burgers.
South East Asian prefer rice, they take bread as snack, so many of them or many of us here see burger as something expensive because it can not make us full.
