Too Many Reminders Causing Stress
I was sitting at the kitchen table this afternoon and my phone vibrated. I thought it was a text from my wife, since she was out spending time with friends. Instead, I saw a pop-up reminder I had set months ago. I looked closer, and it wasn't relevant anymore. I wondered how long I'd been snoozing and dismissing it instead of deleting it.

I looked and there were at least six reminders in my phone's calendar on any given day. Three of them didn't even apply anymore. As soon as I deleted them I felt a small sense of relief. These must have been causing me stress subconsciously. It likely wasn't enough to noticeably bother me, but the fact that I felt relieved after its absence shows it still affected me to a degree.
It makes me wonder what else in my life might be subconsciously causing me stress? There must be other things, but how do I go about identifying them if they're subtle? I'll have to do some digging to find out what others do to identify these "subtle stressors."
Have you had something similar happen? What was it that was causing you stress? What did it take for you to recognize it and deal with it?

Large todo lists can cause stress indeed. But getting things out of your head by writing them down also releaves stress.
I keep my todo's in trello. You can label tasks, for instance by importance and give the ones that need it a deadline. Only they pop up in my mailbox at the time the deadline is near.
Works like a charm for me.
But sometimes I remove the tasks that arent relevant anymore too. You have to keep the list clean.
That sounds like a great alternative. My only concern would be remembering to check my email more frequently. !LOL

I just keep reminders to take my medications and for my appointments on my phone. My to-do list is separate. Good for you to weed out the stuff that causes you stress.
Sadly, I also have a To Do list separate from the alerts. !LOL
I was my own problem. 😆
