Repurposing an Air Tite for My 1/2 Ounce Silver Round

In my first batch of scrap Sterling I sent, I got something unique back. I asked for one ounce bars, which they gave me. They owed me half an ounce of silver, but instead of cashing me out for that they sent me this.

It's a very unique round. They don't even offer them for sale on their website. I wanted to find a way to preserve it in an air tite, but it's such a unique shape I figured it'd be a challenge.

Tonight, I was looking at the empty air tite that held the round from my last post. I had cleaned the paint off it and will put it in my fondle stack, so there's no point in putting it back in the air tite.

On a whim, I popped it open and stuck the round into it. It's obviously not a form fit, but the triangular insert actually helps keep it from bouncing around so much.

Not too shabby! I like it! I'll have to see if I can maybe find some sort of small spacer I can put in the rounded corners to reduce the wiggle further, but this will work for now.

I remember this version of the Prospector. The border goes nice with the edge giving a ruggedness feel to this round. Some toning would give this round the right character.

I really like that one. Great repurposing the air-tire.
