HSBI Engagement Initiative Progress Report

It's been a little bit since I started this initiative. As with most things, they start off slowly and take time to build momentum. Once they get started, good ideas snowball and become larger than what originally started the idea. That's my hope for this movement: to inspire others to do something similar and promote more engagement in Hive.

The price of Hive typically fluctuates. I'm not concerned, and neither are many of us who understand what makes Hive uniquely positioned to succeed over the long term. For those on the outside looking in, however, this raises an eyebrow or two. While we can't control the price dictated by trading, we can present an image of a vibrant, active, engaging community that people want to become part of regardless of price fluctuations. I think that is a goal worth striving for instead of fretting about the price of Hive.

Let's all think of ways we can encourage engagement across multiple communities and put our plans into action. Even if we're doing it all individually instead of in unison, I think Hive will be better for it as a whole.

The Initiative
I invested a little bit into a token called PAKX. The cool thing is it lets me call a vote on a post once per day. In addition to giving away 5 HSBI to one person who leaves a meaningful comment in my posts, one other lucky winner will receive this vote call on their most recent post that hasn't reached the payout window. If that person's last post is past the 6 day window, I won't be able to call a vote, so I'll draw a second name and so on, until I've chosen a second winner. Cool, right?

Remember, I pick the posts at random and upvoting, liking, reblogging, etc., have no bearing on who gets chosen. It has to be a meaningful comment. For now, I'm choosing all comments until this initiative gains more traction.

That sounds like a great plan.
In the long term, HIVe stands and falls with the community. It's actions like this that keep people on board and give new users the chance to grow.

HSBI is one of the best programs for hive IMO.

Also Joseph just updated that you can send your excess vote balance to other accounts. Pretty cool if you ask me. This means you cannot have enough hsbi.

I agree. It's a great way to reward others in a long-lasting way outside of tipping tokens.

Yeah, I saw that. I think that's great, since there are some like Eco who don't post as often and would rather see it used to help others.
