1oz Silver John Wick Round

Ever since the first John Wick movie came out, I wanted a silver version of the coins they use for "currency" in the criminal undeground. The "coin" isn't anything fancy, but I think it's cool because of the movie reference.

Obverse

On the front is a lion standing proudly. Behind it is a shield with the rays of the sun displayed across it. Written in Latin at the top, the phrase "Ens Causa Sui" means "Something generated within itself." (Source)

Reverse

On the back, we have a figure whose eyes are completely coverer, holding a shield with a sword on top of it in one hand, and what looks like a bouqet of flowers in the other. Again, at the top, we have another Latin phrase, "Ex Unitae Vires." This phrase means "Out of unity comes strength." (Source)

The prices on these range from about $37 to $55, depending on where you get them. I got some Amazon gift cards from work and couldn't think of anything else to get, so I bought this for $54.99.

When I got it, I wondered if it was fake. The obverse seemed far too polished and shiny for a silver round. I don't test purchases that often, but this one had me skeptical. I got out my Sigma, calibrated it, placed it on the sensor, and...

It's legit!

While I wouldn't recommend paying $55 for one of these, if you can find them at a reasonable premium and you like John Wick, keep your eyes open for a deal.
