My first days of April in the modern ranking: EoS balance, upgrading reward cards, skins, and opening Gladius cases! [Eng/Esp]
Happy Sunday, Splinterlands and Hivers community! I can finally dedicate a proper post to my performance in the recent season that just ended! I've been busy with career matters that have prevented me from sitting down calmly, organizing my thoughts, and seeing how my progress is going in Modern. However, that doesn't mean I reduced my activity in Ranked. I was very active, playing my battles every day and accumulating glints. All of this led me to get over 135,000 glints and reach Gold III for the first time!
Feliz domingo comunidad de Splinterlands y Hivers! Finalmente puedo dedicar un buen post a mi desempeño en la reciente temporada que acaba de terminar! Había estado ocupado con asuntos de mi carrera profesional que me habían impedido sentarme con calma, organizar mis ideas y ver como va mi progreso en el formato moderno. Sin embargo, eso no significa que haya reducido mi actividad en el formato ranking estuve muy activo haciendo mis batallas todos los días y acumulando mis glints, todo esto me llevó a conseguir más de 135K en glints y alcanzar la liga de oro III por primera vez!

I started in Silver II, and with consistency, using Foundations cards, the few Rebellion cards I have, and the new core set, rewards, and Escalation cards from Conclave Arcana, we managed to reach this goal that seemed impossible. Now it's necessary to gradually level up the Archons in Arcane Conclave. I want to start with the Legendary Archons since having them at level 1 is enough to achieve good results in the Silver League and explore their potential future capabilities. Meanwhile, the immediate goal is to accumulate and upgrade as many cards as possible, either through chests when advancing to higher leagues or by purchasing them from the Glints shop. I wasn't so lucky with the chests this time.
Comencé en la liga de plata II y con constancia, usando las cartas Foundations, las pocas Rebellion que tengo y la nueva edición core, rewards y Escalation de Conclave Arcana logramos alcanzar esta meta que parecía imposible. Ahora se hace necesario subir gradualmente los arcontes de Conclave Arcana, quiero empezar con los arcontes legendarios ya que basta con tenerlos en nivel 1 para lograr buenos resultados en la liga de plata y explorar el alcance que futuro que puedan tener. Mientras tanto, el objetivo inmediato es acumular y upgradear la mayor cantidad de cartas ya sea en cofres al pasar a ligas superiores, como también comprando las cartas en la tienda de Glints. En este caso no tuve tanta suerte con los cofres.
The high randomness of the chests and their costs make it unfeasible to accept such a risk. As I mentioned at the beginning, my time is quite limited, and these reward glints are, in a way, a reflection of the time I've dedicated to the game, so I refuse to waste it foolishly on a bunch of chests full of potions, energy, and other useless items with very few cards inside. This led me to the decision to start accumulating common cards that are very competitive, and I decided to buy 300 common reward cards to start getting them to the top of the silver league as soon as possible.
La gran aleatoriedad de los cofres y sus costos hace inviable para aceptar semejante riesgo, ya se los conté al comienzo, mi tiempo es bastante limitado y estos glints de recompensas son en cierta forma un reflejo del tiempo que he dedicado al juego, así que me niego a gastarlo estúpidamente en un montón de cofres llenos de pociones, energía y demás objetos inútiles con muy pocas cartas en ellos. Esto me ha llevado a la decisión de comenzar acumulando cartas comunes que son muy competentes y decidí comprar 300 cartas comunes rewards para empezar a llevarlas al tope de la liga de plata lo más pronto posible.

I didn't spend money on alchemy potions; I prefer to use them when I buy huge bundles of rare cards. Even so, I was very lucky to get four golden cards: two copies of Cullborn Revenant, which means we can get it to level 4 if we combine them, one copy of Grim Bonewhip, and one copy of Thornmaw Berserker. This season, when it ends, I'll make one last massive purchase of common cards, so we'll see how many more golden cards we can add to our deck.
No gasté en pociones de alquimia, prefiero usarlas cuando compre lotes enormes de cartas raras, aún con eso, tuve la gran suerte de conseguir 4 cartas doradas: 2 copias de Cullborn Revenant por lo que podremos tenerla en nivel 4 si las combinamos, 1 copia de Grim Bonewhip y 1 copia de Thornmaw Berserker. esta temporada cuando terminé haré una última compra masiva de cartas comunes, así que ya veremos cuantas doradas más podemos sumar a nuestro mazo.
I had a good amount of glints left over, so I spent some on 30 rare cards. My deck is very weak in terms of rare cards; many are at level 1 and only a few at level 2. With these cards, I hope to get at least a few to level 2.
Me sobraron una buena cantidad glints, así que gasté una parte en 30 cartas raras, mi mazo esta muy débil en cuanto a cartas raras, muchas están en nivel 1 y unas pocas en nivel 2. Con estas cartas espero llevar unas cuantas al menos a nivel 2.

These were all the reward cards we obtained, including common, rare, and those we farmed from chests. We had enough to get the commons to level 5/6 and some rares to level 2. Let's see which ones they are.

Upgrading fire cards/Upgrading cartas de fuego
In the Fire class, we only got the Magmaforged card at level 5. I love the Pinpoint ability; it guarantees a successful hit for our sneak units, which is the configuration I like to use most with the Fire class, especially with the Fire Archon Barthalamas.
En la clase fuego solo obtuvimos la carta Magmaforged a nivel 5, me encanta la habilidad de Pinpoint nos asegura un golpe exitoso para nuestras unidades sneak, que es la configuración que más me gusta usar con las clse fuego y en particular con el arconte de fuego Barthalamas.
Upgrading Water Cards/Upgrading Cartas de Agua
Here we were lucky enough to upgrade two interestingly melee Water cards: Surgeblade, which is common, and Surgehammer, which is rare. The former has the Charge ability, and the latter has the Opportunist ability. In modern play, these cards are almost exclusively magic-based, but they are important additions for use with Archon Possibilus in Wild and Brawl formats.
Aqui tuvimos la suerte de upgradear 2 cartas curiosamente melé de la clase agua: Surgeblade que es común y Surgehammer que es rara, la primera con la habilidad Charge y la segunda con la habilidad Oportunist. En moderno juego casi exclusivamente con unidades mágicas pero estas unidades son importantes incorporaciones para usarlas con el arconte Possibilus en el formato wild y en las Brawls.
Earth Card Upgrades/Upgrading Cartas de Tierra
Husk of the Hunter is an extremely valuable card from my point of view. A ranged card that reduces enemy ranged damage and attacks the last position makes it a strategic piece in combat, especially in battles with the ruleset where you can only use ranged units. Then we have Swampwrought. I haven't had the opportunity to use this card in battle yet, since with this class I focus my strategies on melee and ranged units, but being rare, I still need to upgrade it to higher levels to see its true potential.
Husk of the Hunter es una carta en extremo valioso desde mi punto de vista, una carta rango que reduce el daño rango enemigo y ataca la última posición la convierte en una pieza estratégica en combate, sobre todo en batallas con la ruleset donde solo puedes usar unidades rango. Luego tenemos a Swampwrought, esta carta si no he tenido la oportunidad de usarla en batalla, ya que con esta clase enfoco mis estrategias en unidades melé y rango, pero siendo rara aun necesito llevarla a niveles superiores para ver el potencial real de esta carta.
Life Card Upgrades/Upgrading Cartas de Vida
Pixie-knife Hurler was the only card we managed to upgrade this season. Last season, we'd already upgraded the common cards to level 5, but this card has the advantage of attacking from the front line and now gains 30% evasion with the Dodge ability. This card is an important addition because, along with the Escalation Silver Shield Sentry, we now have two ranged cards that we can use on the front lines in battles with the ruleset that only allows ranged units.
Pixie-knife Hurler fue la única carta que logramos upgradear en esta temporada, la anterior ya habíamos llevado las comunes a nivel 5, pero esta carta tiene la ventaja de atacar desde la primera posición y ahora gana un 30% de evasión con la habilidad Dodge. Es una importante incorporación esta carta porque junto a la carta Escalation Silver Shield Sentry, tenemos 2 cartas rango que podremos usar en la vanguardia en batallas con la ruleset que solo nos permite usar unidades rango.
Upgrading Death Cards/Upgrading Cartas de Muerte
With the Death class, we upgraded two more cards: Thornmaw Berserker, a card I'm eagerly awaiting the right conditions to use its final ability, Rest. Its problem is that it lacks sufficient durability, making it an easy target when used on the front lines. The second card is one of my favorites; it's rare, and we've already upgraded it to level 3. It gains an extra hit point, which strengthens it. The great advantage of this card isn't just its damage; it can also increase the speed of the entire team.
Con la clase muerte upgradeamos 2 cartas más: Thornmaw Berserker una carta de la que estoy esperando la batalla con las condiciones adecuadas para aprovechar la habilidad final rest, su problema es que le falta más resistencia porque usarlo en la vanguardia lo convierte en un blanco fácil. La segunda carta si que es una de mis favoritas, es rara y ya logramos upgradearla a nivel 3, gana 1 punto extra de vida lo que la fortalece, la gran ventaja de esta carta no es solo su daño, sino que puede aumentar la velocidad de todo el equipo.
Upgrading Neutral Cards/Upgrading Cartas Neutras
The only neutral card we managed to upgrade was Mindless Thrall. This card is rare and very interesting. It gains 1 extra speed point, increasing its ability to evade melee/ranged and magical attacks. Despite being neutral, it's a very versatile card, and it's one of those cards I need to upgrade to level 4-5 as soon as possible.
La única carta neutra que logramos upgradear fue Mindless Thrall, esta carta es rara y muy interesante, gana 1 punto extra de velocidad, aumentando su capacidad para evadir los ataques melé/rango y también mágicos. Es una carta que siendo neutra es muy versátil, es una de esas cartas que debo upgradear a nivel 4-5 lo más pronto posible.
Eggstravaganza“Pastel” Skins!
With the last of my Glints, I was tempted to buy the Easter-themed skins. I focused on the commons and a few rares. I started with the first two commons, the fire and earth Arcana Conclave skins, and honestly, I didn't like them much. They don't look that impressive, but since they're supposed to be "extravagant," I guess that's to be expected.
Con los últimos Glints que me quedaron me vi tentado a comprar las Skins temáticas de pascuas, me enfoque en las comunes y alguna rara. Comencé por las 2 primeras comunes las de fuego y tierra Conclave Arcana y la verdad que no me agradaron mucho, no se ven tan imponentes pero como pretenden ser ser "extravagantes" supongo que es algo que debería esperar.
Now, the one I really loved was Ulundin Overseer with its hipster style. I didn't think twice—here are my Glints! And from the Foundation cards, I really liked Pastel Water-Logged Wizard, which is a water class, and its skin truly captures the spirit of Easter. I plan to buy the rest; the more expensive ones will be with Dec, but the rare ones I'm missing will be with Glints.
Ahora, la que si me encantaron fue la de Ulundin Overseer con ese estilo Hipster, no lo pense 2 veces toma mis glints! Y de las cartas Foundation me gustó mucho la de Pastel Water-Logged Wizard que es de la clase agua y su skin si que expresa verdaderamente el espíritu de estos días de pascua. El resto tengo pensado comprarlas, las más caras serán con Dec pero las que me faltan de las raras serán con glints.
Brawls
We'll wrap up with our most recent Brawl, where we came in third place, although I performed well on my Fray. I usually struggle with all the cards in the Gold League. This is why I limit myself to taking my reward cards to the top of the gold league; I think that's more than enough to even face the diamond league, especially if you can get level 5 epic archons.
Cerramos con nuestra más reciente Brawl, donde quedamos de tercero aunque tuve un buen desempeño en mi Fray, suelo batallar con todas las cartas en la liga dorada. Esta es la razón por la que me limito a llevar mis cartas rewards al tope de la liga de oro, creo que más que suficiente incluso para enfrentar la liga diamante, sobre todo si puedes conseguir arcontes épicos nivel 5.

We opened four Gladius cases and we were lucky indeed, getting one rare gold card and one epic Death card. It had been a long time since I'd gotten a gold Gladiator; seeing it makes me miss the days when you could burn your Gladiators in Decs. I hope those days return. For now, we'll have to be content with the potential use of these cards in a possible Gold Card Fray or even in tournaments with only gold cards.
Abrimos 4 Gladius cases y vaya que tuvimos buena suerte, 1 cartas dorada rara y 1 carta épica de muerte. Hacía mucho tiempo que no conseguía una gladiadora dorada, verla me hace extrañar aquellos tiempos en los que podías quemar tus gladiadores en Decs, ojala y que esos tiempos regresen nuevamente. Por ahora tendremos que conformarnos con el potencial uso de estas cartas en una eventual Fray de cartas doradas o incluso en torneos de solo cartas doradas.
Beyond the gold and epic cards, what was valuable to me was the large number of rare cards, particularly of the Fire class. I have most of them at level 6 except for Cutter Brieze, which I'm only 3 copies away from reaching. But my interest is in having them at level 7 because I can use them at that level in the gold league/fray if I use level 5 archons, of which I have the epic fire and dragon archon from Rift Watchers, which are the latest ones released so far.
Más allá de la carta dorada y la épica, lo valioso para mi fue la gran cantidad de cartas raras, particularmente de la clase fuego. Tengo la mayoría de ellas en nivel 6 a excepción de Cutter Brieze que estoy a solo 3 copias de llevarla a nivel 6. Pero mi interés es tenerlas en nivel 7 porque puedo usarlas a ese nivel en la liga/fray de oro si utilizo arcontes de nivel 5, de los cuales tengo el arconte épico de fuego y dragón de Rift Watchers que hasta ahora son los últimos que han salido hasta ahora.
