My EoS progress in February: Upgrading cards, Conclave Arcana rewards, Foundation & new Escalation cards! [Eng/Esp]
Greetings, Splinterlands and Hivers! Wishing you a happy and restful Sunday, today I want to share a general overview of what the second season of February has been like. In my previous balance, I mentioned that I hadn't been taking the reward cards seriously because I'd become addicted to the seasonal skins, which have been available from Halloween 2025 to Valentine's Day 2026. I can't complain; this was something I always asked SPL for, and now it's a reality that I'm very grateful for. But it was time to get serious about our progress in Modern. We must remember that Escalation is now on sale, and therefore that means the countdown has begun for the infamous Rebellion set to finally leave Modern. Therefore, it is imperative to start adding and upgrading cards to prepare for what I believe will be a renewed Modern format.
Saludos amigos de Splinterlands y Hivers! Deseándoles un feliz y reparador domingo, hoy quiero compartirles un balance general de lo que ha sido la segunda temporada de febrero. En mi balance anterior les compartía que no me había estado tomando enserio el tema de las cartas rewards porque me había vuelto adicto a las skins de temporada que desde halloween del 2025 hasta los de San Valentín este 2026, no me puedo quejar, esto era algo que siempre le pedí a SPL y ahora es una realidad que agradezco bastante. Pero ya era hora de ponerse serios con nuestro progreso en moderno, debemos recordar que ya Escalation esta a la venta y por tanto eso significa que la cuenta atrás para que la infame edición Rebellion salga definitivamente de moderno, por tanto es imperativo comenzar a sumar y upgradear cartas reawrds para prepararnos para lo que considero será un renovado formato moderno.

In Modern, we reached Silver League II. This was largely possible because we had almost maxed out our Archons and Foundations monsters. This is also one of the reasons why I wasn't playing Modern as dedicatedly; I needed these Archons at least at level 3, and preferably level 4, to climb out of Bronze and establish myself in Silver League III. But with the recent release of Escalation, I managed to reach Silver League II. The rewards weren't great, but I'm grateful for two things: merits and card unlock scrolls.
En moderno llegamos hasta la liga de plata II, esto fue posible en buena medida por tener casi maximizado nuestros arcontes y monstruos Foundations, esta también es una de las razones por la que no estaba jugando tan dedicadamente moderno, necesitaba estos arcontes al menos en nivel 3 y preferiblemente nivel 4 para poder salir de bronce y consolidarme dentro de la liga de plata III pero con la reciente salida de Escalation logre alcanzar la liga de plata II. Las recompensas no fueron gran cosa pero agradezco 2 cosas: méritos y rollos de desbloqueo de cartas.
In total, we managed to obtain 77,000 Glints and an extra 3,000 for placing in the top 100 of the rankings! This is quite an exceptional achievement considering our relatively small investment in Conclave Arcana/Escalation. As long as SPL continues selling packs at maximalist prices, they have a lot to evaluate for the future, and one of those things is to take a step back and calmly assess whether the current state of the game is enjoyable or not. For now, we've invested our glints in 200 common cards, since I barely have any of these cards at level 1 and very few at level 2. With the unlock scrolls, we'll release some common and rare cards that have strategic value.
En total logramos obtener 77000 Glints y 3000 extra por quedar entre los 100 primeros del ranking! Un logro bastante excepcional considerando que hicimos una inversión bastante pequeña en Conclave Arcana/Escalation y será así mientras SPL insista con la venta de packs a precios maximalistas, tienen mucho que evaluar para el futuro y una de ellas es sentarse con calma y ver si el estado del juego actual es o no es divertido. Por ahora invertimos nuestro glints en 200 cartas comunes ya que apenas tengo estas cartas en nivel 1 y muy pocas en nivel 2, con los rollos de desbloqueo vamos a liberar algunas cartas comunes y raras que tengan un valor estratégico.
With the exception of Surgehammer and Stonebind Matron, which we not only unlocked but also leveled up to level 5, we've already reached enough copies of the rest of the common cards to level 4. Of all of them, the one I've found most valuable is the one that develops the Strengthen ability. This would be the second card with this ability that I've come to appreciate over time; adding two maximum hit points always makes a difference in a battle.
A excepción de Surgehammer y Stonebind Matron que no solo lo liberamos y llevamos al nivel 5, el resto de cartas comunes ya alcanzamos las copias suficientes para llevarlas al nivel 4. De todas ellas la que me ha parecido más valiosa porque desarrolla la habilidad Strengthen y con esta sería la 2 carta con esta habilidad que con el tiempo he aprendido apreciarla, sumar 2 puntos de vida máxima siempre hace la diferencia en una batalla.
For now, we can only take advantage of these upgraded cards with the Archons from Foundation. In the medium and long term, we must upgrade the Archons from Conclave Arcana so that when Rebellion is released, we are prepared for the meta shift when the next card set arrives.
Por ahora solo podemos aprovechar las ventajas de estas cartas upgradeadas con los arcontes de Foundation, en el mediano y largo plazo debemos ir upgradeando los arcontes de Conclave Arcana para que cuando salga Rebellion estar preparados para el cambio del meta cuando entre la próxima edición de cartas.
To wrap up my review of common cards, out of the 200 cards we revealed, we only got 3 gold cards. Gone are the days of many gold cards at the end of the season, the excitement of enjoying each EoS, but this is what we have. The good news is that these cards are already unlocked, and we can rent them out or, if we prefer, sell them.
Para cerrar mi balance con cartas comunes, de las 200 cartas que revelamos conseguimos solo 3 cartas doradas, atrás quedaron los tiempos de las muchas cartas doradas al final de temporada, de la emoción de de disfrutar cada EoS, pero es lo que tenemos. La buena noticia es que estas cartas ya están desbloqueadas y podemos ponerlas en alquiler o si preferimos a la venta.

We had a few thousand Glints left over, so we spent them on rare cards. Even though we already have them all, they're only at level 1, except for a couple that I collected in reward chests when I upgraded from Bronze to Silver.
Nos sobraron unos cuantos miles de Glints, así que los gastamos en cartas raras que de igual manera aunque las tenemos todas ya, apenas están en nivel 1 a excepción de un par de ellas que he acumulado en los cofres de recompensa al pasar de bronce a plata.
Although we didn't get many cards, we did manage to get the rare fire cards to level 2. Grove Doomblade is one of those powerful cards I'd like to keep leveling up as long as its speed doesn't increase; it's more useful with 1 speed for battles with reverse speed. I still need to explore the fire-class cards in more detail; their Archon is simply fantastic, as it puts a void effect on dwarven-lineage cards. But first, I want to finish collecting ogre-lineage cards to complement my favorite dual-elemental card: Warborn Shaman!
Aunque no fueron muchas cartas, si logramos llevar al nivel 2 las cartas raras de fuego. Grove Doomblade es una de esas cartas poderosas que me gustaría continuar subiendo de nivel siempre y cuando no se incremente su velocidad, me sirve más con 1 de velocidad para batallas de con velocidad inversa. Todavía me hace falta explorar con más detalle las cartas de la clase fuego, su arconte es simplemente genial, pues le pone vacío a las cartas de linaje enano, pero antes quiero terminar de conseguir las cartas de linaje ogro para acompañar mi carta bi elemental favorita: Warborn Shaman!

So far, we only have 5 rare cards at level 2. The most valuable of them is Gravebrand Warlock, which learns the Swiftness ability, adding +1 to the speed of the entire party. We still have a lot of work to do here, but I'll finish leveling all my common cards to level 5 before I start buying rare cards.
Hasta ahora solo sumamos 5 cartas raras en nivel 2, la más valiosa de ellas es Gravebrand Warlock que aprende la habilidad Swiftness sumándole +1 a la velocidad de todo el equipo. Aún nos falta mucho trabajo aquí, pero terminaré de llevar todas mis cartas comunes a nivel 5 antes de comenzar a comprar cartas raras.
Opening Foundations Packs/Abriendo packs Foundations
The other very important aspect for continuing to progress in Modern is to finish maxing out the Foundations cards. I don't know what the future holds for these cards; they're becoming less and less valuable, and even the Arcane and Black Foil versions are hard to sell, so their best use is to complement our Modern deck. This past week I was very active trying to get the copies of Fire Archon I need for level 4, but I wasn't lucky. However, I did manage to max out a couple of monsters.
El otro aspecto muy importante para continuar avanzando en moderno es terminar de maximizar las cartas Foundations, ignoro cual será el futuro de estas cartas, cada vez valen menos estas cartas e incluso las versiones arcanas y black foil son difíciles de vender, por lo que su mejor función es para complementar nuestro mazo en moderno. Esta última semana estuve muy activo tratando de conseguir las copias del arconte de fuego que me faltan para el nivel 4 pero no tuve suerte pero al menos si llevé al máximo nivel un par de monstruos.

The most outstanding cards were in the Water class. I want to start with Mystic Scaleweaver. I decided to max out this card by buying the legendary copy I needed for level 2. It makes a huge difference now with 3 damage, which helped me a lot in reaching Silver League II. Then we have Port Guardian, a solid tank that now does 2 damage. It took me quite a while to level up to 5. I don't usually use it in Modern, but it's very helpful in Frontier. Finally, we got Frost Warrior to level 4. This is the least relevant card of all; I haven't found a use for it in battle yet, but perhaps later, when the meta changes, we can get more out of it.
Las cartas más destacadas estuvieron en la clase agua, quiero empezar por Mystic Scaleweaver, esta carta decidí llevarla al máximo nivel comprando la copia legendaria que me faltaba para el nivel 2, una gran diferencia ahora con 3 de daño, esto me ayudó mucho para alcanzar la liga de plata II. Luego tenemos a Port Guardian un sólido tanque que ahora hace 2 de daño que tarde bastante en subir a nivel 5, no suelo usarlo en moderno, pero en Frontier es de gran ayuda. Finalmente llevamos a Frost Warrior a nivel 4, esta si es la carta menos relevante de todas, aún no le consigo una utilidad en batalla pero quizás más adelante cuando cambie el meta podamos sacarle más provecho.

Lastly, we have the epic card Ash Archer. This card is interesting. As such, it's not a very useful card for the Fire class, but what makes it stand out is its Elven lineage. This means it can be used with the rare and legendary Archons from Arcane Conclave, so it's already good to have it at max level. We'll explore the potential of this card later.
Por último, tenemos la carta épica Ash Archer, esta carta es interesante, como tal no es una carta muy útil para clase de fuego, pero lo que destaca de esta carta es que tiene linaje elfo, es decir que puede usarse con los arcontes raros y legendarios de Conclave Arcana, así que ya es bueno tenerlo al máximo nivel, exploraremos el potencial de esta carta más adelante.
Finally, I want to close this report with my most recent purchase of Escalation cards. I really liked these cards and see them as very useful for strengthening my position, but above all, the common cards are extraordinarily powerful. They remind me a lot of the Chaos Legion cards. Buy at least one copy of the common cards and one copy of the rare cards. I'll buy the epic and legendary cards little by little since I can't buy them all, so I need to evaluate which ones would be most useful to me in modern ranked.
Por último, quiero cerrar este reporte con la más reciente compra que hice de cartas Escalation. Me gustaron bastante estas cartas y las veo muy útiles para reforzar mi posición, pero sobre todo las cartas comunes son extraordinariamente poderosas, me recuerdan mucho a las cartas Chaos Legion. Compre al menos 1 copia de las cartas comunes y una copia de las cartas raras, ya para las épicas y legendarias las compraré poco a poco ya que no puedo comprarlas todas, por lo que debo evaluar cuáles me serían más útiles en el ranked moderno.
It's precisely the common cards that I'd like to take to higher levels. I thought about buying them as gold cards, which are quite affordable on the market, but even though I know they'd be very useful in the silver league, there will come a time when I'll have to upgrade them to continue climbing in the gold league. Buying gold copies of these cards from level 5 onwards requires buying many copies, and the cost skyrockets. So, if I'm going to upgrade them, it will be with regular cards.
Son precisamente las cartas comunes las que me gustaría llevar a niveles superiores, pensé en comprarlas doradas, que son bastante accesible en el mercado pero aunque se que serían muy útiles para la liga de plata, llegará el momento de tener que upgradearlas para seguir subiendo en la liga de oro y comprar copias doradas de estas cartas a partir del nivel 5 requiere comprar muchas copias y el gasto se dispara, por lo que si las voy a upgradear será láminas regulares.
I haven't had time to try out the rare cards from Escalation yet, but one that caught my eye due to its design, stats, and abilities is Empusan Darkguard from the Earth class. It reminds me of the powerful Deep Lurker from the Water class, which makes me suspect that in this new meta, the Earth class seems to be shifting towards melee strategies rather than formations of magic or ranged units. The other cards that stand out are those without any attack; they're ideal for cards with the Weapons Training ability. Finally, I'd like to highlight the Dragon class card. It's a powerful tank, although it seems more useful to place it in the second position and have it attack from there. In any case, I'll be testing these cards in the coming weeks and will share my impressions.
Aún no he tenido tiempo de probar las cartas raras de Escalation, una que me ha llamado la atención por su diseño, estadísticas y habilidades es Empusan Darkguard de la clase tierra, me recuerda al poderoso Deep Lurker de la clase agua, lo que me hace sospechar que en este nuevo meta, la clase tierra parece moverse a estrategias melé más que alineaciones de unidades mágicas o rango. Lo otro son las cartas sin ningún tipo de ataque, son ideales para cartas con la habilidad weapons training y por último me gustaría destacar la carta de clase dragón es un tanque poderoso, aunque parece más útil ubicarlo en la segunda posición y que ataque desde alli. En cualquier caso estas cartas las estaré probando en las próximas semanas y les compartiré mis impresiones.
