Sometimes making the short throws where you have more time ends up being harder because you can try to over finesse it. Kind of like Shaq shooting free throws. He never could figure out a natural motion for it and would almost just shove it with his fingers.

That makes a lot of sense! Thanks for the great perspective. I know it happens a lot more than people realize. I have seen it countless times in my nieces softball games.
