Whatever!

Well, it's finally over. As of this fine Tuesday morning, the NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments are over. Despite all my best efforts I made zero money this year on my brackets. On the other hand, I think my brother in law did quite well. I just couldn't bring myself to have the Michigan Wolverines going much further than they did. Unfortunately, I was wrong. It's not that I don't think they are a talented team, but as I said before the fans in the state just make U of M in general insufferable.

There is just something kind of trashy about them that you don't get with Michigan State fans. Of course, I am a bit biased here, but it's true. If you live in the state, you know. If you are a Michigan fan you probably disagree, but at some level you probably identify with what I am saying. :)

My wife showed me a meme the other day where they were talking about things they would rather do than watch Michigan win an NCAA title. Because honestly, that's what we all knew was going to happen. It was a foregone conclusion after Arizona got taken down by the Wolverines. In fact, I told @mrsbozz the other day after watching UConn and Illinois face off that I had a feeling whoever won the Michigan/Arizona side of the bracket would end up being the champ.

There just seemed to be a lot more talent there. Arizona was our last best chance for Michigan not to win and they failed miserably at.

So yeah anyway, that meme I was talking about, it had all kinds of undesirable things like doing your taxes and stuff like that. As for me, I was in bed, fast asleep without a care in the world because that's how much Michigan winning the title means to me. If anything, this is a good reason for me to avoid social media for the next couple of days. All of the changed profile pictures, posts with just the word "hail" in them, and the generally trashy behavior you would come to expect from folks who let this moment define their whole existence.

I'm not bitter at all though.

In fact, I choose to see the good in all of this and that would be the fact that the Big Ten pretty much swept the tournament titles this year. With UCLA now being a Big Ten school, I prefer to dwell on the fact that the UCLA ladies put on a spectacular show taking down South Carolina. I'm going to avoid talking about that messy South Carolina/UConn game and just focus on the good that is UCLA. Way to go Bruins. It was an absolute joy to watch you ladies play!

Now, I'm at a bit of a loss about what I am going to post about in the future. Softball for sure, but with football and basketball in hiatus for a while, I might find myself struggling a bit.
