Transition Time

Now that college football is winding down, I am going to be doing quite a bit more posting about college basketball. I'd also like to get a few posts in here and there about the women's side of college basketball. I will admit I have done horrible job of keeping up with that this season. With Clark in the pros now and a few of the other college stars gone, I haven't been watching as intently as I used to.

Plus, the Winter Olympics are coming up, so that should be a ton of fun as well. I am really looking forward to writing some posts about that in the near future.

As for college basketball, Friday wasn't a very good night to my favorite team. I want to be mad about the number 9 Michigan State Spartans loss to Number 13 Nebraska last Friday night 58 to 56, but when you have 19 turnovers, that's the sort of thing that is going to happen. They just looked horrible. It has been a common theme that Sparty has trouble holding onto the ball and that was glaringly apparent on Friday night.

I actually stopped watching the game because so tried of being frustrated. It was bound to happen, so I am not surprised. I also don't think this will be their last loss of the season, but it should have been a win. Yes, Nebraska is a good team, but this should have been a win for the Spartans.

Meanwhile number 2 Michigan easily handled number 24 USC 96 to 66. Stanford had a huge upset win over number 16 Louisville 80 to 76, and Seattle took number 7 Gonzaga into overtime, but fell short 80 to 72.

Saturday felt a bit like March with 16 games happening in the top 25. Number 23 Georgia had a close scrape with Auburn going into overtime, but they came away on top 104 to 100. UCF had a nice upset win over number 17 Kansas 81 to 75, and number 18 Arkansas had a nice game against number 19 Tennessee beating them 86 to 75.

Finally on Saturday, Missouri had a narrow upset victory over number 22 Florida 76 to 74.

Sunday gave us two games in the top 25, and neither of them were upsets.

Likewise, on Monday there were two games in the top 25. Nebraska has moved up to number 10 and they had a close game with Ohio State but came away with the 72 to 69 victory. Meanwhile, Michigan State has dropped down to the 12 spot, but they had a huge 80 to 51 blow out win over a USC team that has fallen out of the top 25, but remains 12-3 on the season.

There are eight games tonight in the top 25, and then a bunch more games throughout the week.

Towards the weekend basketball will be competing with the college football playoffs though. Choose wisely!

College basketball sounds exciting, i have been watching a little more NBA and NFL this year especially after finding two teams i now root for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago bulls. being a fan from the uk it is a little challenging finding affordable streaming coverage. For college basketball i haven't looked into it too much other than watching one game between Iowa and Lowell river hawks.

shame about the loss hopefully a bounce back for you in the next games.

I got to see Iowa play against Michigan State a month or so ago. It was a good game. I prefer college sports over professional ones, but I can understand how it would be hard to see a lot of them over there.

The NBA is a scam. I stopped watching it a long time ago. You'd probably have to pay for an ESPN or conference level subscription to be able to watch a lot of the college stuff over there.
