"The Game" and Week 14

Believe it or not, a long long long time ago, I used to be a Michigan fan. It's not that I really had any loyalty to them, but the color scheme was pretty cool and at the time I was dating someone that was a Michigan fan (not in the picture). Thus, after meeting @mrsbozz I was still a Michigan fan for a short time. Then I started to realize I could pick the teams that I wanted to like based on my own feelings, not those of someone else, and I determined that I would much rather be a Michigan State fan.
The rest as they say is history, but as you can see from the photo above, there is still a bit of evidence that once upon a time I didn't have the taste and discernment that I do now.
We are now entering the 14th week of the NCAA football season, and if you live in Michigan or Ohio, the big story this weekend is "The Game". The much anticipated match up between Ohio State and University of Michigan. This game has a lot of history. In fact, there have been countless documentaries dedicated to it.
Most of them will probably be playing on repeat on your favorite sports channel leading up to the game. The animosity is intense. The outcome of this game will determine the future trajectory of each team. Will Michigan get another win and put a stop to the Ohio State perfect season? While Ohio State embarrass The Wolverines at home and sail along to the Big 10 Championship game? Only time will tell.
Personally, I don't really have a dog in this race. Many might think that since I am from Michigan I would hope that Michigan wins, but the fact is, I really can't stand either of the teams an equal amount. The fan base of both of them are annoying. I kind of feel like U of M has gotten a bit overly cocky lately, so it would be cool if they lost. I don't know. I really don't care.
What I do know is that it should be a fun game to watch no matter who wins or loses. It's probably the most anticipated game of the weekend even when you consider the Lions are facing the Packers on Thanksgiving day.
If you had to tune into a single game this weekend, make sure it is "The Game". Noon on Saturday. If you aren't near a couch, find one. If you don't own a couch, buy one. It's that big of a deal...
If you really don't care at all about either of those teams. You are in luck, there are some lesser (in my opinion) games you can also check out.
More specifically, check out the number 4 Georgia vs. number 23 Georgia Tech at Georgia Tech. I'd also point out the number 3 Texas A&M vs. number 16 Texas at Texas game. Home field advantage could play a big part in both of those games.
Number 25 Arizona State is taking on number 20 Arizona at Arizona, and number 12 Miami is facing number 22 Pitt at Pittsburgh.
In other rivalry news, number 14 Vanderbilt is taking on number 19 Tennessee at Tennessee. It's actually crazy that all the underdog teams have home field advantage this year. Like I said, that could play a big part. Who knows.
Your best bet is to just watch and find out! I know that's what I'll be doing!
