Power Up!

Although the majority of the season was pretty easy for the Tiffin Dragons, I am not too sad to see them face a little bit of adversity here in the G-MAC tournament. While it would be nice for them to just win every game and sweep the whole field, I think we all know that is pretty hard to do.
Things kicked off two days ago with Tiffin having a banger of an opening game beating Cedarville 15 to 0 to advance to the next round of games. That moved Cedarville down to the consolation bracket which honestly doesn't seem like a fair name. I'd call it the losers bracket, but you can still fight your way back to the championship, so that doesn't seem very accurate either.
Meanwhile, in other games, Findlay beat Hillsdale to move along to the next round as well. That pushed Hillsdale down into the secondary bracket to face Cedarville. Remember, this is a double elimination tournament, so one loss doesn't totally screw you over.
Ashland took down Northwood University to secure their place against Ohio Dominican who bested Ursuline. You can probably guess, that means that Northwood and Ursuline had to face off against each other.
Hillsdale beat Cedarville to knock them out of the tournament and keep their hopes alive. Meanwhile, Northwood did the same to Ursuline sending them on their way home.
Unfortunately, Tiffin lost their game against Findlay by two to get sent down to the secondary leg of the bracket to face Northwood University in a game later yesterday. It ended up being a walk off win for Tiffin moving them along to the next round of the secondary bracket.
Back in the main bracket, Ashland took down Ohio Dominican to advance to a game today against Findlay. This moved ODU down to the secondary bracket where they got beat yesterday in a stunner against Hillsdale. That sets Tiffin up for a game against Hillsdale at 5:15 PM this evening. Whoever wins that game will then face the loser of the Findlay/Ashland game to try and keep their hopes alive.
If Tiffin is able to battle their way through the consolation bracket, they will need to beat the winner twice to get the title. It's not a big deal, Tiffin has had their fair share of sweeps this season, but they are going to have a tough road to get there. These next four games are going to be brutal for them if they hope to win it all.
Either way, I think they have already punched their ticket to the NCAA Division II tournament, so this would just be icing on the cake.
