I knew it!

I had a feeling in the back of my mind that something bad was going to happen on Friday night. It was a game that by all counts the Spartans should have won pretty easily given their talent. It was actually all dependent on which version of the Michigan State Spartans decided to show up to play. Would it be the tight offensive powerhouse with blazing speed up and down the court, relentless rebounding, and high flying dunks? Or would it be the bumbling joke of a team that turns over the ball more than a hooker turns tricks and can't get anything to fall no matter how hard they try.
Unfortunately, Friday night in Wisconsin we got the latter.
To be fair, Wisconsin is building a pretty impressive resume for themselves. Despite some random nastiness in the regular season, they have big wins over Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois, and now Michigan State. It has the potential to make things a little messy in the Big Ten. Though U of M is still looking like the top dog right now.
We had a few games in the top 25 on Tuesday of last week. The first upset came at the hands of Miami taking down number 11 North Carolina 75 to 66. Then number 13 Purdue handed number 7 Nebraska another loss in a thrilling 80 to 77 overtime game. Likewise as I said above, Wisconsin took down number 8 Illinois 92 to 90 in overtime.
TCU beat number 5 Iowa State 62 to 55 to finishing things off for the day. As you can see, there will be a lot of shake ups in the top ten moving into this week.
Wednesday we had five games in the top 25. Virginia Tech upset number 20 Clemson 76 to 66, and then all the other games went in favor of the ranked team.
There were no games on Thursday night in the top 25, but Friday night gave us three games. The aforementioned upset by Wisconsin of number 10 Michigan State 92 to 71 was just about enough to ruin my weekend. There were no other upsets beyond that.
Saturday gave us 17 games in the top 25. Only one of them was an upset, but it was a really really big one. Number 16 Texas Tech took down number 1 Arizona in overtime 78 to 75. I should also point out number 22 BYU had a close call against Colorado that went into overtime, but BYU came out on top 90 to 86.
Sunday there was only one game in the top 25 and it was a run of the mill win for number 8 Illinois over Indiana.
The new polls haven't been released yet, but I expect Michigan is going to move up into the number 1 spot. I also wouldn't be surprised if Wisconsin finds their way into the bottom of the top 25. There is definitely going to be a lot of movement in the rankings this week.
