Go Time!

The play in games are officially done and today we get to take a deep dive into the NCAA basketball tournament. I'm so excited! This is honestly one of my favorite times of year when it comes to sports. Probably even more so than the college football bowl season. Especially given the fact that the Michigan State Spartans have been so horrible lately at football.
Action gets started in the US at 12:15 PM EST and you better believe I am going to have my side wall monitor on streaming at least one of the games. The sad thing is, the web interface for YouTube TV doesn't allow you to use multi-view like the Roku and Firestick app does, so I am going to have to pick and choose my games carefully until I get home this evening.
As I mentioned on Monday, my bracket is already complete and I shared it with you there if you want to go back and look at that post. Just click on my name and find the post if you are actually interested in seeing what think might happen. What I hope will happen anyway. It would be nice to win some money again this year. I have my bracket in two different pools along with the shared pool with that friend who I share my bracket with each year.
The first two pools are fund raisers, so while I get to keep some of the winnings if I win, a portion of them will go to support either youth sports teams or some other philanthropic need.
The first game of the day is TCU taking on Ohio State and my bracket has TCU with the 9 over 8 upset, but I wouldn't be shocked if the Buckeyes win this one. 8/9 match ups are kind of a coin toss to be honest. I think Nebraska should easily handle Troy in that 4/13 match up, and though I have Louisville over South Florida on my bracket, that 11/6 showdown could be one of the first big upsets of the tournament.
Traditionally 12/5 pairings have been kind of exciting when it comes to upsets, but I think Wisconsin shouldn't have much problem with High Point. Duke should easily defeat Siena, if they don't my whole bracket is busted. McNeese is a good team, but Vandy has been having a good year despite a couple of hiccups, so I think Vanderbilt will come out on top of that 5/12 showdown.
I'm praying Michigan State has zero issue at 4 PM this afternoon against North Dakota State, but honestly the Spartans have lost stupider games, so you never know. Arkansas is riding a high after their conference tournament victory, so they should handle Hawaii pretty easily in that 4/13 match up.
North Carolina should take VCU, but that 6/11 contest could go either way given the injuries on the Tarheels team. Michigan will likely massacre Howard, but I wouldn't be sad if they got bounced out of the tournament early. BYU over Texas seems like a no brainer, but I think that might be a closer contest than people think. I feel the same way about the Texas A&M vs. St. Mary's game. Those 7/10 head to heads are always a bit hard to predict.
Illinois should handle Pennsylvania no problem, Gonzaga over Kennesaw State, and Houston over Idaho. The only other toss up is Saint Louis and Georgia. I think I have St. Louis winning that one in my bracket, but I could be wrong.
The important thing to remember is this is March, so anything could happen. Cinderella is ready and waiting to bust some brackets!
