Getting their dancing shoes ready

It's going to be a bit weird not having the Olympic games to watch this weekend. The good news is, maybe that will get me to read a bit more than I have been in the past couple of weeks. The bad news (well, not really bad news), is that I still might not get much reading done because as I mentioned earlier in the week our niece is playing in a softball tournament down at Liberty University this weekend. In addition to that, we are racing towards the end of the college basketball season and things are really starting to get good!
The fact that I get to watch some professional broadcasts of my nieces games is pretty exciting. These are actually going to be shown in the ESPN app and although I really hate ESPN, I decided to fork over the extra money for the subscription so we can see the games. It's not cheap, but it is totally worth it! Which reminds me, I also need to renew my Apple TV Plus subscription since Monarch Season 2 drops today.
I'm even wearing my Radford gear today to cheer on my niece. I hope she is actually able to get some play time in some of the games. She had a really rough week (because of some other stuff), and she really just needs some singular focus this weekend to get her back in the right flow.
As I said though, college basketball is cruising towards the end of the season. There were ten games in the top 25 on Tuesday this past week. Dayton took down number 23 Saint Louis 77 to 62 in one of three upsets of the day. Then we had Missouri stun number 22 Tennessee 73 to 69, and finally UCF handed number 19 BYU a hard defeat 97 to 84.
On Wednesday there were 7 games in the top 25, but none of them were upsets. This is the time of year when teams need to be bringing their A game, so upsets start to get a little fewer and further between. If that wasn't the case, then teams should really start to be worried!
Finally, there was just one game in the top 25 last night and it was a big game between number 13 Michigan State and number 8 Purdue at Purdue. Since it didn't start until 8 PM EST I didn't watch all of the game, but I was happy to see that the Spartans were only down by a little bit when they made it to halftime.
Even better, they came away with the upset victory 76 to 74 which is just pretty amazing. I just hope they can keep this momentum going and not drop a stupid loss to one of their remaining opponents. I think they only have like three or four games left in the regular season. Three, it's three games. Indiana, Rutgers, and Michigan. Michigan is the one I worry the most about, but like I said, the Spartans have been known to drop stupid games so I hope they can avoid that.
Then, the fun really starts. Conference tournaments capped off by the big dance. Are you ready? This is one of my favorite times of year!
