Slowly Rising Again: A Personal Note

Hey Hivers,

After a stretch of heavy clouds,grief, illness, and all the beautiful chaos life throws our way, I’m slowly finding my way back to the surface.

I’m not firing on all cylinders just yet, and I’m not pretending to be. But I’m here. Dipping my toes back into the current of work, messages, and yes, posting again. Like this one.

You’ll start to see me show up more, bit by bit. Nothing dramatic. No “back with a vengeance” soundtrack playing in the background. Just a man easing back into the rhythm. Carefully, consciously. The way one should after a storm.

Rest isn’t weakness, it’s wisdom. And taking time to recover properly? That’s part of the process too. Not diving headfirst, but easing in. Controlled reentry. Because sometimes, that’s what a man needs to do, step back, breathe, and then return with intention.

Now, a small note about the past: I’ve missed a lot. Too much, honestly. And as much as I’d love to scroll back through every comment and message, I know I won’t be able to catch them all. So if you reached out and I missed your message, please don’t take it personally. I truly appreciate every word, and I’m doing my best to pick up the thread again from here.

I’ve missed a lot. Too much, honestly. And as much as I’d love to scroll back through every comment and message, I know I won’t be able to catch them all

When I'm out of HIVE for more than a day, I know I will need at least the same time to get back to the "loop"... That's sometimes the reason why I don't want to take breaks... but, they are needed... and also, life happens, with good and the bad things...

Life "happens" indeed, with the good and the bad :-) And my main motto is always "Life before hive" :-D But still, I don't want to take any breaks either, like you said, getting back in the loop isn't quite that easy :-) Not yet as bad as "taking the same time as the time of the break", but still :-D

Of course, my friend, you're always very welcome! That's very good to hear! I've got so much on which to catch you up!

One of the first things is about DIY. The DIY community disabled their tipping bot because several Hivers, like you and me, were using it in a way that they did not intend (ping-ponging it back and forth). Since I was the one that started using it all the time, I definitely didn't feel great about learning that. I sent all my DIY back to the @diyhub account several days ago, to help make amends, as did @savvytester and @savvyplayer. I'd suggest doing the same, but of course it's up to you. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I think that even if we sent back our respective DIY tokens to the DIY bot, it's possible that the DIY team (among other people on Hive) thinks that there is some "damage" that can no longer be undone, such as a huge number of DIY bot comments arising from the (very) frequent use of the !DIY token tipping command. 🤔🧘‍♂️🤯🤓

I thought about buying a good amount of !DIY tokens on the #HiveEngine market (then sending them back to the DIY Hive account or burning them), though that would escalate quickly to hundreds of SWAP.HIVE. 💸🤯😅

True... walking (and blogging as well) is a great medicine, not just for grief, but for life in general I have come to experience...
And indeed, grief never leaves, but time makes it bearable, smooths out the rough edges of the spikey rock that grief is...

Taking a break is needed from time to time in anything. I have long stopped saying I am back to stay or here I come full steam ahead!

We do what we can do, and ease ourselves in gracefully!

Thank you! Indeed, sometimes these breaks are truly needed! Consistency is king, but can't rule with a pitstop once in a while ;-)
